A buddy of mine (Jon) bought a 3d printer and we were talking about what we could build with it. I had always wanted to delete the fog lights and replace with an intake. The thing is the only set that they sold were about $200.00 It seemed like a lot for a bit of plastic. Jon was able to take the fog light and copy the mounting brackets so that the intake would click in to the mounting holes. I still need to run the hose up to the air box but so far they have held up great. I had block off plate made for the passenger but he said he can make a second one if I want to run these to the brakes. Just thought i would share. The best part is i don,t have to keep replacing fog lights every week with these. The ones on my car were painted black to match the plastic. Also if anyone is interested in these I know he is thinking about making them as an affordable option.

Great post! Any other 3d printing projects planned?
I've been pondering what pieces this tech might enable us to make.
That turned out nice. But the stock airbox already has a fresh air duct so why exactly is this needed?

Hmmm, what about an HVAC relocation panel? To move it down below and allow for a change up top?
The added air flow was a cheap alternative to a cai. As for the radio delete, I'm sure that would be easy

And I got tired of replacing fog lights
Cooling looking little piece. I think it would serve better for brake duct cooling, but seeing how it uses the factory attachments, I think that's a big improvement over having to creatively install the typically ones you find.
If you were going to do an intake route, wouldn't you want to angle the outlet up so it points into the airbox area?
The radio delete panel is < $5 from the dealer.
Yeah without running some sort of duct or piping directly to the stock airbox, this mod does absolutely nothing. Even then, you would have to remove the stock duct to expose the only opening in the airbox

I want someone to figure out how to 3-d print the bezels for the door tweeters and mids!

Correct it has a tube routing to the airbox
So cool, would def be great for more brake cooling.
Hello,
I have a E92 with no screen, I want to make a tablet installation. If you're able to do a nice frame to look like smooth with the console, I will buy from you for sure. I bet, many people would buy too.
(Tablet installation that I want to do - http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1058216)
If the stock brake ducts [things on the inboard of the foglights or whatever they are called], could be out of ABS plastic vs the old PP that'd be great and allow a lot of brake and engine air intake solutions. (and still keep fogs)

1998 M3 Sedan - LS3 M12T56 - A bad addiction.
If you look at just about any e36 M3 with the HK option, it's likely the bezels on the door speakers are cracked/missing. There are two options: buy used speaker grilles with intact bezels (I did this but they soon broke, too) or buy brand new speakers from BMW. There's no option to buy just the OEM bezels/grilles, yet you can upgrade the speakers from companies like BSW. So, if there were an option to replace the grilles + bezels, which can be removed separately from the speakers themselves, that would be a true service.

Looks interesting, what's the diameter of that exit though? Seems small...?
Has anyone tried the cabriolet rear tweeter covers in the front? It's just a cover without a speaker.
Hmmmm, getting back around to this. weedshoes, since I have two verts and three interiors (swapping the dove for black in the silver, I'll take a look at that this weekend. Even if that works, we still face the brittleness issue.
