Hey everyone just wanted to start a thread on my new project!
Mostly just wanted somewhere to document my build and share with everyone here on the forum.
So to start I purchased a 2003 E39 525iT earlier this year and initially was just going to use it as an extra vehicle and hauling around my big goofy lab. Fast forward 3-4 months and the transmission decides its time to just give up. While searching for a new transmission I came across a couple LS swapped E39's and i was instantly hooked. Fast forward another month and the plan changed again because the opportunity to purchase a nearly new Gen V LT1 came to my attention. So that's where I stand now and to my knowledge the first Gen V in a BMW.
Ill try to update this as much as possible as I continue the build. My biggest obstacle right now is engine mounts since LS to LT are just slightly off. So i will be fabricating my own for now and then should be pretty straight forward from there! (famous last words)

I figured you meant the old lt1, as in the one out of the old Caprices, thinking why the hell would someone pick that engine when an LS/lq would be marginally more? But running the gen V, have to say I quite like it
