2017 is the year to shine, going with some changes because....well....why not, it winter. Kicked some ass last year at Pocono. While we kept up with the big boys, the car gets zero looks until it goes over 160mph in the 60mph to 1600ft.
Plans:
Built 2.9~3.0
Wiseco 84.5mm pistons, 8.5:1, coated skirts
HD wrist pins
Total Seal Gapless top rings
Pauter Xtreme duty rods
S52 crankshaft
ARP2000 10mm headstuds
Schrick 276/270 cams
Supertech valvetrain
VAC/ATI damper
Converted OBDI valve cover
E85 everything
Precision 6870 twin scroll 1.0 A/R
AR Designs V1 manifold
Twin Tial MVS 38mm (open dump)
3.5" exhaust with cutout
Treadstone 1245 intercooler
Tial 50mm BOV
E46 M3 6 speed trans
Clutchmasters 850 twin disk with lightweight steel FW, race clutches
Hydraulic TOB
UUC Euro Evo3 short shifter
Shortened DSS driveshaft
Block is being machined, entire rotating mass is being balanced, just waiting on them to call and say it's done. I have a severe problem collecting M52B28 blocks, I'm up to 4 now lol.
For the meantime, I used a spare block to measure up the new driveshaft specs.
Clutchmasters 850 with lightweight steel flywheel
New fancy valve cover so I can stop melting my plastic OBDII cover.
6 speed getting delivered

That VC is gorgeous for sure! Every time I think you've gone to the top level, you do something new lol. Can't wait to see yet another pristine build brother.

Where did you get that valve cover? It looks awesome.
Be careful just swapping to s50 cover. The grounding system on that cover is not nearly as good as the s52 cover. If you make the switch definitely ground the coil packs to a chassis ground

Having some 2nd thoughts about using the Lightweight steel flywheel.
Clutchmasters states on their site the weight of the FX850 with the steel flywheel is 22 lbs total. I weighed it myself and saw that it the total package weighs 30.4 lbs. I think that might be way overweight. They have recognized the info on their site is wrong and are willing to swap the lightweight steel flywheel for the aluminum.
What do you guys think?

I can't stand heavy clutch/flywheels. I swap them out on all my cars.

Isn't the gear rattle pretty bad on the 420G with a lightweight flywheel?

Stock DMFW is heavy but quiet. I've had gear rattle for almost ten years now. I'm use to it.

What are your power goals and how much boost will you top out at? Sorry, I know it's OT, just curious!
