Fresh out the spray gun and hasn't even been wet sanded or buffed yet.
My biggest problem right now is finding the sunroof brackets that always break. With the sunroof in the car, I had to get between it and the headliner to grind the heads off two of the sunroof tor screws so that I could get it out. Once out I discovered that the nuts that are inset into the sunroof bracket were being allowed to spin because the plastic had broken. The dealer is sending my drawings that are not of the sunroof in my car and I'm kinda stumped right now. Anyone know where these can be had? The car is DC81088.
So I finally got her back off the lift and ready for the ac to be charged and alignment gotten underway. I'm still fighting the sunroof thing though. The stealership is telling me the numbers on the rails I need aren't valid part #'s, their drawings show different sunroof setups, and I have had no luck on the internets. SHOGUN, master of all that is e32 information, do you have a direction you can point me in? It appears as though both rails and cables are ONE PEICE because they will not separate without being bent/broken. I have to replace them because the nuts were spinning inside them due to cracked plastic. I have two parts cars but I'm sure they do, or will, have the same problem.
Here's a list of what's been done mechanically.
BMW reman steering box, many new linkage parts too
New radiator, thermostat, and AC dryer(she's going back together with r12 if I can help it
New motor mounts, upper and lower pan gasket, ALL hydraulic lines that are up front
Installed a used, and unscratched drivers window and fixed the broken lock actuator bracket
New headlights purchased, currently looking for better front turn signals and bezels
New front bumper cover and right front fender
Great to see e32 builds/restos like this, rarely happens on the e32 boards so keep up the good work!
Have you noticed much of a difference from the BMW reman'd steering box?
Paint looks beautiful. Look forward to so the finished product. Inside and out. Another E32 being saved. There should be a Holiday...............

I knew I had seen your car before. I was thinking about you posting pics with the BBS wheels and the center caps off. I went back to the "show your ride" thread and see your pics on page one, just before my post. I always say how my memory is shot, but when it comes to E32's there's a special place up there.

That was at my annual car gtg, sometimes the asshattery gets a little crazy, I start letting the boys do burnouts then I want to do one too. She needed the exercise and the rear tires were relegated to burnout shoes already. They were only on the car because I knew it would be sitting for a while in storage and didn't want my good ones to get flat spotted.
Looking good already. Great to see an E32 having some money spent on it!
I would call Travis at http://www.bmrparts.com/ Give him your Vin and exact manufacture date. Tell him all the parts you need and have one of his guys find an identical car to yours and pull them. Biggest BMW wreck yard on the planet. They usually have just about everything. I bought an intake manifold from them a few years ago. Real easy to deal with. Just a thought.

$350 isn't that bad - that might actually be cheaper than trying to find the parts you need...

Did you talk to Travis, and maybe make him an offer instead of asking for a price. Might work. I only ask because when I purchased my manifold from them, it took three times until they got it right. There were three different manifolds on the E32 that I know of. One says 3.2/3.5 on it. Mine just says 3.5. One comes ready for ELM and not old fashion wired gas pedal and cruise control like mine, and one comes without the hose tit that leads to the brake booster. The third one they sent was right on the money. But because they were messing up with my VIN number, the second two came two day air and they never wanted any parts back. Two of the manifolds came with the fuel rail, injectors etc. Just gave everything to my mechanic for his future use, and the third shipment was spot on. Made me feel good about him. Maybe not so good about the guy pulling the parts from the wrecks. Anyway, worth a shot.

The 350 bones is for a used assembly. I have pulled apart one of my parts car sunroofs and it has the same problem my nice car has, split and broken plastic. Any used assembly is going to have the same problem. Thanks though.
