OBD1 help with connection cable

So i purchased one of those K+DCAN cables with USB adapter on Ebay to use on my 95 M3. Now i just need to figure out how to use it. Not sure where to download software.

What modules are you trying to reach in your car? The K+DCAN cable cannot reach many modules in your car. It certainly cannot reach the engine control module because yours uses an older diagnostic interface.

Nope. The ECM (DME in bmw terms) in your car doesn't use K line diagnostics, but rather L diagnostic line, which is often quite a pain.

K+DCAN can do K line and dual CAN. No L line.
