- Coolant fluid changed
- Intake manifold gaskets replaced (thus eliminating a rough iddle)
- Other minor gaskets replaced.
- New Fan Clutch.
- New intake connectors
- New steering arm
- New lifting rubber pads
- New front inner fender plastic guards
- New rear and front upper and lower rubber bushings
- New alternator belts
- New engine oil pan gasket
- New bonnet and trunk emblems
- Used seat belt cover trim (L+R). The old were broken
- Used ashtray (the old was broken)
- New engine spark plugs

All parts are BMW OEM.
And drove her home!
As I have replaced an E46 steering wheel in to original E31 3-spoke one, I had a Airb-bag light on! So I ordered a Slip ring.
Also I have an ABS/ASC control unit failure, so I am after a replacment one as well.

Good to hear your car is getting some much-needed TLC!
Current:
1994 E31 850CSi Sterlingsilber/Anthracite Buffalo
Previous:
1987 E28 M5 Delphin
1986 E23 M745iA Arctic Blue
1986 E24 635CSi Polaris
1976 E3 3.0 Si Arctic Blue
I need those throwing star splits. Great build.
Don't say. I spent a fortune on it...
A snap shot for you (took today):
The centers are painted (ignore the dust) and Radinox lips are polished (Yeah, it took much time to do this)
So the final step is to have them assembled, sealed and wrapped in tires. Very possible I will have them on my 8er by the end of the following week

Wheels are going to be very nice! What are you planning to do to make them fit?
Ooomg. Are there any concerns about strength having cut and drilled out the face for a multi piece? Are you building them yourself? I may need a quote from you, or whomever is building them...

The rims are made by this guy https://www.facebook.com/Baggedbenz/
I had my own barrels, lips and Throwing stars and he did the conversion.

Ok, the rims 19', 10.6 (ET-11) and 9 (ET-6) , so after goodling many ad various stretched tire pictures decided to wrap 225/40 ir 255/35 ones with a mninmal stretch, But it looks like there are no stretch at all...
Based on 'good practice', particularly:
rear 19x10.5, ET-1 (255/30)
or 18x12.5, ET+8 (265/30)
going forward. Front OK, but the rear - OMG- rubbing like hell!!
So the next step is to try 235/35 tires in the rear + adjustable rear camber suspesnion... Any thoughts?

I think the 235/35 will be enough and you wont need the camber arms - I'm assuming you've had the fenders rolled? if not you'll need to.
Here is mine before i had the rears rebuild running 10X19 et -2mm running 235/30 - there was no rubbing with this (fenders were rolled) - My old setup with 10J et-2 is more aggressive than your 10.5 et11 (which is why I had them rebuilt to 10.5j et17) so i think you'll be fine with the narrower tyre and fender rolling
and here is after the rebuild to 10.5J et17 - which let me run a nicer 275/30 - I didnt like the ride/handling running a 235 tyre on the rear (and a 225 on the front but now I will go up to 245)
I also had csi rear springs installed which raised the rear a little
Wow -11 - i thought you made a mistake and meant +11
OK thats like 10 mm more poke than mine before they were rebuilt - thats pretty aggressive, so yeah you might need adjustable camber arms - OR you could do what I did and rebuild with a narrower lip/ wider barrel - thats the beauty of modular wheels after all.
From the angle of the pic they did not look as aggressive as -11mm - could you post a photo from different angle that shows the poke a bit more clearly?
OK, round 2.
I wrapped the rear rims in ridiculous 225/40 tires instead of beafier 255/35 ones and got a hardocore tire stretch. But it least it looks like it doesn't rub anymore (fingers crossed).
Glad you got them to fit.
Hope the ride isn't too harsh on the 225 rears.
The poke at the rear wasn't my cup of tea (ride/handling and looks wise), hence the rebuild
Yeah, I agree. Your present setup looks better. Meanwhile I will try my one for a month or two and then will decide whether to rebuild the rear for more friendly lips or remain as it is.
As for the ride, it is noticeably harder than on 255/35/18, but still OK, assuming it is not used for long journeys
I think that it looks a bit odd because front is pretty nicely flush with the fender and the rear pokes out so much. If you like the rear wheel look then you should widen the front wheels to match the look with the rears. If not, then you need to rebuild the rears with narrower lip and wider barrel. You should have room inside for at least 1,5" wider barrel.
I vote the second choice.

I had a bigger longer with my 850 yesterday and must say the ride is pretty hard... I am considering to go for somtehing milder.

Sell the bottlecaps and rebuild the throwing start to a sensible spec that allows a proper tyre size and you'll really like them. They do look great - but then again, I would say that......
Car is coming along nicely. Good work.
What "thumbs up" really means
Thanks!
p.s. got the parcel today...
