    19" spiders on an e60

    hi all

i currently have 19" spiders on my 09 520d M sport touring and the rear tyres (245/35/19R dunlop outside) are nearly ready for replacement. is it possible to get a deeper tyre to soften the ride?

    cheers

    Hi,

Suspension makes the biggest difference to ride quality. Check to see if your shocks/dampers, springs are all in good condition. If you use non run flat tyres they have softer sidewalls too. You can't just use higher profile tyres to 'soften' the ride, as you'll upset the rolling radius of the tyre and anything more than 3% of the specified RR for the car, and you'll cause errors with the computers.

You could also change to softer springs or run 18inch wheels/tyres. If that's still to stiff for you, buy a mercedes ?!

    Cheers, Dennis!
