Oh the agony of reading "it's for sale"... f-ing country that won't allow me to import nice cars.
    Diehard E39 driver.
I'd rather die or take a walk before driving an E60 or any BMW made after Y2K.

Wow, been a good while since I've posted anything in this thread, but the car had been working great, so didn't have much to post. Only things done to the car in the recent past was I bought a black headliner kit from Schmeidmann in Denmark and installed that to complete the interior transformation. The headliner came in looking nearly brand new and was a good bit cheaper (even with shipping) than getting someone to redo my existing one.

Then as of last weekend, the car is now sold. I put it up for sale on the Facebook groups and got a lot of response, but particularly from an individual from CA that has the e39 wagon bug for sure. He wanted to add this one to his family's collection. The car should be picked up from the shipper this coming weekend.

This car has completely transformed since I bought it and I'm so happy that the new owner will love it as much as I did building it.

Yeah, the X5 has taken a lot of my time lately getting it sorted, then I have a 2005 Range Rover that is going to get a 4.6is engine swap, which will be cool and unique as I can't find any builds that have done the 4.6 online. Probably also get a 2010+ facelift done to it as well.

There will also be a build thread soon for my customer's 530i S54 swap project that I just ordered a ton of engine parts for. I think we may get started on that this weekend. Stay tuned for that.

LOL! Was that Damon who bought your car? I may have a donor 530i DINAN 5 available to me. Was thinking of just swapping out drivetrain, DME and AGM into the Imola Wagon.

Yeah, Damon bought it. Just picked up today and on its way to CA.

You can now EWS delete MS43 DMEs, so swapping the DME and keeping the tune should work fine. AGM? What's that? Auto Gearbox Module? Is it an auto or manual?

Nice! I'm sure he can't wait to get it.

That's interesting. So, pretty much swap everything including the DME and then one can just delete the EWS. Can I program the DME to the car - ignition, EWS and all - if I wanted to?

AGM is indeed the autobox module - has a tune on it as well

So, if it's an auto and you're putting it into an auto, literally just swap the whole powertrain and drivetrain, put the EGS (what you call the AGM) in place of the original one as it isn't VIN specific, swap in the DME and EWS delete it. You could swap the EWS from the Dinan, but would require swapping the locks as well, which is more trouble than it's worth.

    *edit*

Actually, I think its known how to clear the ISN in the Dinan DME, which then you just sync the EWS with INPA and it's like it came that way from the factory.

Okay.... cool. I certainly don't want to swap locks and ignition barrels and such. Maybe EWS delete it is if this happens. If I end up with the car, I'll let you know.

Re-read my edit. You can actually clear the ISN information on the existing DME, making it available to resync the EWS and work with your existing EWS and keys. Contact me when you're ready to do it and I can help you out. Can also add M5 warm up lights as well as shift lights at the same time, while still keeping the Dinan tune, so long as it's a later version of the software.

Cool Deal! Thanks for the added tip, would be the perfect time to add the M5 cluster. Will the cluster be able to work with an Auto?

Of course, but shift lights won't really make much of a difference obviously. Kind of just a cool gimmick. The oil temp gauge and warm up lights will work fine though.

Right on! Does the E39 M5 cluster have shift lights?
