BMW Interior Question

Anyone know what kind of interior was put in on E36 M3s? Whether it's Montana or Nappa? I was going to purchase some new leather seat covers all around and for some reason I thought the M3s had come equipped with Nappa but the guy I was gonna buy the leather from said he makes them out of Montana which is what the factory would've probably equipped. Obviously Nappa is better if I can get it but which was factory original? Thanks
