buy 9.5+40 in 18", 19" or 20". choose appropriate tire. install. http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ list 18x9+41 as a stock wheel so 9.5+40 will be easy to fit.

sorry yeah i've learned just about everything important thats german from that site. under the drop items titled "Baureihe" select X1(E84) and hit "GO". it will bring up all the wheels BMW would typically install on an X1. the most aggressive set up I see is a 19X8+30 front and a 19x9+41. the tires 225/40/19 and a 255/35/19, which is helpful to know if you decide to go 19". there are several 18" set ups with the same widths and offsets.

if you have a 9+41 from the factory on the rear and replace it with a 9.5+40, it will only "poke" or still out of the wheel wells an additional 7mm, or 1/4". so you could go even more aggressive on the rear i assume. a 9.5 can accommodate up to a 285 series width, which would sit quite fat on it.

personally, if it were me and my car. 20x9.5+40 all around with a 275/30/20 tire.

what size wheels are on your X1 currently? tire size(s)?

just a info post, the aggressive X1 is 18" set ups are as follows

    Style 320
    18x8+30 with 225/45/18

    style 321
    18x8+30 with 225/45/18

    style 322
    18x8+30 with 225/45/18 Front
    18x9+41 with 255/40/18 rear

    style 323
    18x8+30 with 225/45/18 Front
    18x9+41 with 255/40/18 rear

    style 355
    18x8+30 with 225/45/18 Front
    18x9+41 with 255/40/18 rear

and the only 19" set up I see is the Style 324
    19x8+30 with 225/40/19 Front
    19x9+41 with 255/35/19 rear

Let's see some X1 with good wheel fitment!

Now that spring has "somewhat" sprung here in Canada I want to get off my Winter tires... After reading this thread I have been out and ordered 18 X 9.5 +40 for all 4 corners...

The store selling the wheels have assured me that I don't need TPMS sensors as in my 2015 X1 BMW use the anti-lock brakes for tire pressure monitoring...?!?

Any thoughts on that anybody..? Never heard of that before... Hope is isn't telling me a load of nonsense...

    Any advice is welcome...

    Thanks in advance.

Well the sad thing is I have now been told by the wheel manufacturer that at 9.5" wide on the front will rub (their web page said it would clear)... So off to plan B. Now going with 19" Rims with 8.5 in the front shod with 225-40, going with 9.5 on the rear with 255-35 tires.

Good news is he was right about the not needing the TPMS sensors...
