    Offset Question

    I have a 2013 BMW 328 ix with 18" wheels and 34 offset
I have found a set of used snow tires on 17" BMW M Sport wheels with 41 offset.
Can I run these on my car?
    Thanks
    Paul

Are the offsets of the front AND rear of your current wheels 34? What are tire sizes of both sets? What are the wheel widths?

Both sets are square not staggered and tires are identical as far as aspect ratio and tread width.

Are the rim widths the same?

If so, the 17s having the same profile size as the 18s will have 1" overall smaller diameter creating a .5" more air gap between the tire and wheel-well then the 18s. If the 17s and 18s rims have the same width, you will be fine as long as you get the offset close. From 34 to 41 there is a 7mm dif.... 5mm spacers should be close enough.

    Great thanks
Will the spacers require longer lug bolts?

would be a good idea.... 5mm longer. Be sure to get hubcentric spacers with the correct bolt pattern and hub ring diameter. Some BMWs have a 72.56 hub and others are 74.something.

    Sounds good
Please don't take offense but with only 8 posts, how do you come by all your knowledge?

I dont think I have a wealth of bmw knowledge.... I've just been a lurker that happened to recently replace my 545i wheels and did a crapton of research prior. Having previous knowledge of wheel sizing etc helps a tad also. http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...20-quot-wheels
