New to BMW: Looking at 740Li (N55)

I am passing down my Tundra to my college bound son so I will be replacing it with style, mystique, comfort and emotional giggity's. I have been looking at Audi A7, A8, BMW 740Li and BMW 750Li. After sifting through the majority of the N63 CCP threads, I think I have narrowed down my search to the 2013-2014 BMW 740Li. First and foremost, does the N55 platform seem to be fairly reliable? Does it respond well to performance and tuning mods? Is there anything about the N55 740Li that I need to know when narrowing down my field of potential prospects?

Hey Chris - I personally haven't driven the 740Li, but I've heard really great things about them; esp for being a 6 cylinder and being such a big car. As far as tuning, the N54 is a preferred platform for tuning. Are you looking for a re-flash mod or just intake/exhaust? Just make sure that you get a full PPI report from a reputable BMW mechanic.
