    RIP John Surtees, 83

    http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/124...s-dies-aged-83

Only man to win world titles on 2 and 4 wheels. Enzo Ferrari called him "Il Grande John" and was very fond of him.

Crashed in 1965 and one side of his body was 4 inches shorter than the other; doctors were able to reset it to a 1-inch discrepancy.

    Amazing talent.

    RIP.

Have any more back story about his crash and how his body shrunk on one side only than the other side?

I've never seen him race but I did watch a bunch of interviews with him over the past few years. A life well lived. R.I.P. Mr Surtees.

That's the real sad thing about guys from his era: there's barely any footage of these drivers so it's all second-hand at this point. In most cases though-especially with guys like Surtees-the stories get the point across.
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?
