So I installed a TCU (its for bluetooth phone function) in my vehicle however at times the audio from the phone call simply does not come through the car speakers.
The other person can hear me talking to them, however I can't hear them. When I turn the phone call off, the audio system returns back to FM/AUX or whatever it may be and works fine without issues.
Anyone hear of this or have an idea what's going on? I'm sure its hooked up properly as otherwise the other times it wouldn't work either because when it does work it works fine and I can hear the person and they can hear me.
I simply installed the TCU, I did not add the VO through NCS not sure if this makes a difference or not or if this is in relation to my issue?
Do you have a bad aux Jack on the phone or similar?
If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".

Hi,
Which car is it installed into? check and double check that you have a compatible revision BT module installed. Look on Realoem.com to see the list of part numbers and revision numbers to see if the module you have is on the list. If it isn't, then purchase one that is on the list and try again, If the unit you have is on the list, check for any later revisions and purchase one of those and retry. If it is on the list and the revision number is also compatible, then you might have a faulty module so you'll need to try with a known working module.
Cheers, Dennis!
I asked because the aux cable on the phone will mess with which output it is using.
Its the sameexact system as an 04 e46 or 04 x3.
If you hook up the aux cable after Bluetooth connects, guess what happens?
The phone itself routes the call audio to aux, which you can't hear in phone mode.
Next time it happens, unplug the aux cable from the phone and you'll be able to hear the call
The permanent fix is: always plug in your aux cable first before you turn the ignition on.

Yah this doesnt help any. Same issues.
I don't use the AUX from my phone at all.
Then go look at the voice command bypass plug. There's a little blue terminator plug there, or there is supposed to be.

No. It's on a separate lead in the same general area.
Since an 08 x3 is still basically an 05 e46, your wiring is the same as my 04 e46, my 04 x3, and the 02e39 I did a tcu in.
The e39 was missing the jumper/terminator and wouldn't pass audio.

I dont have a jumper/terminator plug.. thats for the older E39 as you mentioned.
So your saying there is a blue plug in the back somewhere, physically plugged into the TCU or not? Plugged into anything or not?
