Thumbwheel List not appearing - 7 Series 2015

I'm having a problem where all of a sudden, the thumbwheel list that shows radio stations, phone numbers etc. on scrolling is not appearing in the instrument cluster anymore. The functionality works still - i.e. If I'm listening to radio and I scroll and select using the thumbwheel, the corresponding stations are selected - but no visual list display in the drivers console. Same for phone calls - I can scroll and press the button to blindly make a call - but obviously without the list it's of no use.

Im guessing it's some setting somewhere - but couldn't find anything in the settings - neither in the manual (I think)

The list generally appears overlaid on the RPM digital display. Now, only the rpm meter is shown. And it is displayed perfectly - no dots. I'm attaching 2 pics - one shows how it is now, the other shows how it used to be when I turn the scroll wheel. Now, even when I turn the scroll wheel, only the rpm meter is shown.

Since there are are no random pixels or anything - just the rpm meter - it makes me think there must be some setting to turn back the radio/call list on. But for the life of me, I can't find it

Is it showing up in the HUD? I believe there is a option in the display section of the settings menu.

I don't have a HUD option in the car. I couldn't find any relevant setting in display section either.

Another thing I'm noticing is that I can't select any of the checkboxes in the "instr. cluster display" settings. Is that normal? Everything is unselected.

This issue has been fixed after a battery reset.
