    (made for E36 M3 sedan)

There's an M3 coupe set on there too if it makes a difference in adapting to the E31.

4 door mirrors will not fit a e31, they are a different shape base.

Not sure if any of those styles would suit an M8 replica.
The one here in NZ has mirrors that closely resemble the original - see picture.

So E36 coupe/cabrio mirrors fit the E31? Never knew this. I have CSI and AC Schnitzer mirrors (E31 specific) and they were a B**** to find! Would have made my life a lot easier if I knew this before.

Coupe/cabrio E36 mirrors do not fit. The mirror is the same but the adapter base is a different size with different mounting points. It is however, slightly closer in size to the E31 than the E36 sedan mirror base - perhaps why some believe it is a straight swap. But it's not.

You can convert sedan or coupe E36 mirrors with Engl mirror bases but the bases require a fair bit of work to get a good finish and you also have to swap all of the motor internals from the E31 as they are not interchangeable with the E36. Ultimately it's a time consuming and not very rewarding task. Better to save up and buy OE E31 sport mirrors.

Any idea what mirrors fearghus used for the M8 Jooles?
They do look a lot like the Schnitzer Cup items in the original post, but must've been heavily customised to suit the E31 instln.

You can convert m3 mirrors if you want to drill holes. I bought a set and played around with it. The base fits, just the holes do not line up. The sedan base is completely different. For the work you have to do to the ENGL base, you might just as well drill new base holes for the m3 coupe mirrors. And your will have to swap the internals also.

I have 2 pairs of the AC Schnitzer electric cup mirrors for the E31 (M8 look)

Would be willing to sell one pair if the price is right.
