Nice shot. Too bad there isn't one of the 3 cars lining up for "bragging rights".
True that Jim! Although I'm not sure that would end up the way we would like it to.. Those mustangs launch hard and are quite a bit lighter.
Nice pic!

Tptrsn you are correct. Im faster than the Buick but that Mustang is running low tens. Hes using the same turbo as the 540i though. That Mustang is very sloppy
“Sloppier than yer Mom after she had the Triplets” as we say.
Nice job on gettin that car out in public Nick, Thad just doesn’t know what to do with nice things. Glad it’s outa his hands frankly. Y’know some guys would rather have 5 Big Macs and a case of 40’s, than a dry-aged bone-in ribeye with a green peppercorn glaze and a glass of fine Cabernet.
;P (sh1t just made myself hungry)
Srsly I’d love to see the car in pers some day. Shame it didn’t coincide w my days of biz travel in MI. Who knows, someday maybe there’ll be an excuse to get to NV...

Touché... it’s the Pinacle of what our 540 strive to be, makes me hard just looking at it!!
DUDE, you're killing me!!
I don't know man, the food analogies are nice, but they just don't really work for me since I really want ALL of the above. Even if I will probably pour the wine in one side of my mouth as I'm pouring some 40ouncer in the other side (makes my wine snob friends pretty pissed). But hey, ya gotta have something to wash down all of those burgers and steak!
I prefer the musical analogies from the melodious stylings of Chad Kroeger with backing riffs from the great Zakk Wylde:
Stacy's gonna save herself for marriage
But that's just not my style
She's got a pair that's nice to stare at
But I want girls gone wild
Enjoy the music along with the visuals:
(there, THAT's the version I wanted)

Probably the safest bet DokB.
How's things!?!
I have a racekor part on my front porch right now and i'm itching to leave work early to go unwrap it. I'm trying to get the cabin sorted whilst slowly chipping away at the engine. GD 40 year old german junk costs too much. you'd be forgiven for thinking it all comes autographed by Ferdinand Porsche himself or has a fancy 24 karat liner.
Hell, for the prices we're paying for these parts you'd think they'd come with a GD free sticker or something. Maybe i'm the only one who remembers when manufacturers and distributors gave away stickers and tshirts and $h!t with their orders.
TLDR: still old and cranky

I feel for you my man!! One of my first checks on any project I'm pondering is whether I can get lots of cheap parts. If not, then it's a no go. That stuff would absolutely kill me.
Couldn't resist.
Gotta order from Bimmerworld. Free stickers and gummy bears

I got them from Aquila (Michael) when he made his cross country M5 trip 2 years ago. We had lunch at Kelly's, wish I had know about Two Fools back then. They are from NGK, one of his sponsor.
Pretty sure I have a few left if you want one.
i ruffled ye olde feathers with the stickers comment. LOL.
I get stickers from Pelican Parts (which also sells BMW bits) and Elephant Racing (which i usually can't afford). after that, i'm SOL.
as for GM/LS bits, I didn't get a lot of stickers with those parts at all. I guess I should have stepped up one level of parts I was buying.
The trade-off is that PRI is here in town, so I can get stickers for domestic manufacturers by the bag-full every year.
To butt-in on the LV convo: I've been to LV 2 or 3 times and barely went out at all. Always work trips and only spent ~2 hours cumulative on the gambling floor. Didn't visit any other establishments. (I have no problem wasting a paycheck on car parts. But I can see bewbs or play cards at home so I don't like to pay for either.)
