Mirrors Folding in and out by themselves

I have a 2007 328xi coupe. One day with my friends we were driving to College Station and we heard a loud bang. No idea what it was. We continued the day and parked the car. My friend hit the button to fold in the mirrors when we parked. After that, no matter what I did, the mirrors would NOT fold back to how I had them set to drive. The button would either move them completely inward or completely outward. We manually moved them to where I needed them to see but multiple times while we were driving down the freeway, the mirrors would fold back completely inward or outward again! I can't really drive my car at this point because my mirrors refuse to stay where I need them and it is too dangerous to drive Houston without mirrors...

Sorry that you're having issues with the mirrors man! I honestly chuckled a little where I pictures the mirror folding and unfolding by themselves none-stop . I included a tech article from our website that should help you troubleshoot and address this issue. Best of luck!

hello I am new here and I do not no where to say this so I hope it is ok to put it here I have a E46 2004 bmw 325ci convertible
I would like help as for me my folding mirrors will fold up but when I go to press the button to make then come back down so I can drive away they do not move ?so I have to get out the car and do it manually lol and I been looking about for a long time and not luck and I so would like to get them up and running so then I can code them with key
