    It's been a long time.. ESS supercharged S62 E38 M sport

It's been a long time since I have started a thread in here But it's time.

I sold my LSx 427 E39 touring on BAT to build an S62 E38. I have gone a little over the top on it. 2001 one owner alpine white 740 M sport with 38k miles.

Fresh S62 built by Peter Partee with Partee racing, ESS supercharger, 6 speed, UUC DSSR, Evo short shifter, ZHP knob, LUK clutch, Brembo GT BBK up front, 750 rear brakes, M5 diff, M5 driveshaft, 750 axles, UUC sway bars, H&R II springs, Bilstein HD's, all tan getting dyed caramel, M5 cluster, M5 wheel, alcantara headliner, NBT retrofit, Alpina lip 19x9.5/10 ARC-8's with Bridgestone Potenza 285/245 tires etc etc.

The motor should be done at the machine shop this week. I am picking up the newly powder coated valve covers and plenum this week. Trevor (007008) is doing the swap and Brian (Redshift) is doing the interior dye. Paul (blackknight530i) did the NBT retrofit and pulled all the interior. This is the first time I am farming everything out as I am tired of spending so much time in the garage with back to back builds. This time the experts are handling the heavy lifting and I am choosing everything and writing all the checks. This allows me to spend more time with the wife and almost 4 year old son. The car should be done by Christmas and I am over the moon excited. I went from the turbo M52 E34 to the LSx 427 E39 touring and then also had an 07 E63 AMG and an E38 M sport for a short but. This build will be culmination of all my favorite cars and will be kind of my E34 V2.0.

Very nicely done so far and great things in the works. You must be an E38 fan since you are putting quite a bit of money into the project. Someone here in NH has an E38 with used S62 and used ESS blower and 6 speed, but its the long wheelbase version.

Shinny parts to keep Raji happy. I love watching your builds, so i'll be following this one. I sold My E38 750il 2 months ago to help fund my turbo M3 project, i miss it already.

    Thanks, everyone.

JC, it's in SC now and will be heading back up to Charlotte next month. I will fly down to Charlotte from Richmond and drive it home. Stocking the garage beer fridge sounds great. There is a Bell's mirror above it and a bottle opener on the steps. There will be another RVAE34fest coming in the spring too.

I assume those plates as just intended to boost proof the plenum connection by deleting the rubber plates that come stock on the S62?

Should have gone neon purple and green gloss. Would be way more classy.

Like this but with more neon and more gloss.

Heads are decked. New springs/seals and exhaust valve guides are going in.

    Yumyums.

Are those valves heavily relieved or is that just the first super clean S62 head I've seen?

Peter begins assembly of the motor today. All parts have arrived. Rings and upper tensioner were taking so long, he had to get them from Dinan $$$.

Interior is finished and back at Paul's (blackknight530i). There is a local guy there who will do the headliner, pillars and parcel shelf in black microsuede before the interior goes back in. It's going to be tight for Christmas but that's the hopeful goal.

The modified 750 rear subframe with M5 diff, 750 axles, 750 rear brakes, stainless lines, UUC rear sway bar, H&R II springs and Bilstein HD's are installed thanks to Trevor (007008). Our two cars are the only ones with this setup.
