Hi!
I have some 540i calipers and brackets in my garage for the past 2-3 years just collecting dust.
So, I finally decided to do something with them and had them blasted.
I really love the raw metal look to them after being blasted, and I originally planned on having them powder coated matt clear.
But, after stopping by the powder coat shop, there were some samples pinned on the wall.
The hammered metal finish really caught my eye.
So, I really trying to decide between the matt-clear and the hammered metal finish.
Thoughts / opinions?
Thanks!
Jason

Matte clear is my vote, the other color would just make them look like they were coated in brake dust again.

I like the matte clear finish.
Of those 2 colors to pic from I'd go with the clear. However with the dark finish you'd never have to clean them.
I like my Anodized Blue.......sorry auaq

Meh ... all the newer BMW's have copied your anodized blue idea.
Thank you much for the input !
The picture of the powder coat hammered finish is pretty crappy because of the glare.
It was really hard to get a somewhat decent picture.
I think it is called "silver vein hammered".
Found a link that kind of shows what it really looks like:

I really love the stock look / non-bling look to the raw metal on the calipers and brackets.
And, yeah, that blue is Jim's trade-mark color, LOL...
Thanks!

This blue is what I'm looking for. Real nice looking
I think the hammer finish will look better in real life, i.e. a month down the road or so... it'll not show dirt as much etc.
Also clears tend to not hold up as well from what I understand, not having pigment in them makes them more susceptible to UV deterioration...

I had a pair of rear brake caliper brackets in a bag, in the garage, already sand-blasted, and I lost them before dropping them off to be powder-coated.
Anyone have a pair laying around...?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Those do look awesome! - As does the car!
The powder coat shop also mentioned ceramic coating as well, but it would be quite a bit more expensive.
I have to ask how much more.
Thanks!

Well, I wouldn't say I'm keeping them clean, they just clean up easily when I do clean them.
Thanks! I love the wheels, but I am looking at buying a brand new set of square E38 rear M-Pars and putting 275/35/18 Pilot Sport 4Ss on them and putting these wheels on the wagon. Need to see if the budget will allow it, but for now I have a full set of used Super Sports in 275/35/18 from Brian that I could put on them. Need to decide if I want to spend about $1600 or so on a new set of M-Pars though.
