not a whole lot to update. waiting on bumper brackets to arrive so I can finish fitting the radiator and intercooler then I can final fit the turbo pping and get it all finish welded.

I ordered injectors, fuel pump, regulator, wastegates, blow off valve, intercooler piping, front tires, and more.

I built the fuel cell but I'm waiting on the filler neck to come in so I can cut the hole for that and weld it on.

I built a fan shroud for the radiator today. (if you like it I can build them to your exact needs)

I got another new toy for the shop too

some of the others I bought recently

not bad for a beginner (not all of them looked as nice but this one I thought was picture worthy.

Nice shear/break and welds. Won't that tank go boom in a rear end collision with that placement though?

It's nestled between two frame rails so it should be fine. It's not as safe as the factory location but there was no way I could retain the factory tank and do the rearend.

Great work so far, I once had to cut a battery cable off a car that was stuck turning over while a guy was trapped in it and the gas tank was pouring all over the place so that is the first thought I had when I saw the location.

it is definitely not the most ideal place especially because the battery is back there too. the battery will be in its factory location but I'm going to build a better cover for it.

Everything is a give and take it's all just balancing. Just be careful of tailgaters, there's far too many crappy drivers out there.

Looking forward to seeing the new battery cover.

I am not sure what the regulations are in the States, but here in Canada if the fuel source is in the cabin or trunk it needs to have its own air tight cover and vented to atmosphere outside the car. I would plan on doing it anyways, less fuel fumes in the car and also hides the fuel lines.

I made a cover in my old car, used some weatherstripping for underbody truck tool boxes and some latches to hold mine down.

I will have an air tight seal and be vented outside. Deffenitly don't want to vent a fuel cell inside the car.

took some time to get right. the core support was bent up from when the last owner bumped into a guys trailer hitch. I had to cut it up to make room for the intercooler and bend it back to place and make some new brackets to support the latches. it closes now and looks pretty straight.

I was able to get the belt routed to avoid hitting the turbo. I added in 2 idler pulleys and I think it turned out okay.

black grill came in and looks pretty good on there.

finally received the downpipe flange that I only used 1/2" of and immediately coned it down to what will be 4". my new bandsaw is already pulling its weight around here.

also welded the filler neck on. I'm still not great at aluminum welding but it should hold.

so I had to cut out a good size chunk of the frame rail. lucky all it does is holds the bumper. I boxed the inside on both sides and then boxed the frame rail in with some 16 gauge steel and welded everything back up its about as good as its going to get...

got the crossover pipe done. took a while because I had to get a purge tank setup to tig the stainless. I started wrapping everything.

I still need to plumb the wastegates into the downpipe as well as the O2 bung. I got a little ahead of myself when I started wrapping pipes. no big deal.

waiting on the weld on bungs to come in for the waterpump. should be here Friday.

new headlights came in. a light smoke to them but very clear.

I approve of this cutting! Did you make sure your bumper still lines up? Don't ask me how I know this can be a problem after modifying that frame rail. :-)

Looking really nice. I'm digging the turbo placement. Do you feel the stock radiator would live in its original spot setup like this?

I have not checked it yet but I did try to do tack welds around to prevent warping before final welding. ill let you know how it works out soon.

getting the piping done for the waste gates. and the O2 sensor.

all of the hotside is officially done now I can start working on the cold side plumbing.

you can see the O2 sensor tucked under the waterpump thermostat housing.
