    chip options for 1995 840Ci

So from what I can tell, the Wokke chip won't work with my particular 840Ci due to the model year (1995). The other options I have found are Dinan and Conforti, but for the life of me I can't find (a) a Dinan chip that says it works for a 1995 840Ci (they all seem to be 1996 and later), and (b) a Conforti chip actually for sale anywhere. I'm new to e31s but not new to BMWs or performance chips... any ideas?

Sssquid or dudmd. I literally just boight a dudmd today and I'm waiting for it in the mail. I've heard dudmd is better than dinan on all accounts. My car is an 94 840ci with the 404 dme and a 6 speed manual, so its going to be very plug and play. I'll report back once I get it in the mail.

I had a little trouble getting my custom chip to work on my 1995 840. Ask the tuners--there is something strange about 1995 840's that isn't found in previous years. You might need to take a picture of the DME so you can send the tuner the exact revision number.

Of course! Just an fyi, 95' year models i believe have the 484 dme, so you'll probably have to send in your chip to a tuner to get tuned in order to bypass the ews system. Dudmd actually does that, if you go on ebay you can message him directly (search dudmd m60b40 chip)

Hi Oscars2212, sorry for the late response. I had to wait to test out my dudmd chip after putting on new wheels because my last pair had smacked a pot hole and damaged one of the rims. Anyways, the DUDMD chip is an absolute blast! Maybe its the new tires (Michelin pilot sport+) but being able to revv up to 7k RPMs is something I'm not use to, and the engine is sooo smooth up in the high revvs. It's very theatrical and exciting.

It took a little bit of driving for the DME to adjust to the chip (about 100 miles) but it starts up and idles smooth. At first the idle use to stutter and whenever the revvs dropped too quick the engine would stall. This is because of a couple of things. I had done a 6 speed swap, so the previous chip was part of the automatic engine which help the revvs partially for smooth shifting, but it's counter productive in a manual car. I had also installed a UUC lightened flywheel which probably further enabled the revvs to drop quicker, and without that inertia from something heavier it stalls more easily. Now it doesnt do that and I can enjoy really quick pulls. Feels faster, and I probably gained 5-10% power gains from it.
