e36 rear diff drive flange bolt sealant - two enter chamber

The bolts that hold the output flange in place - there are six of them per side - two of them end up in the diff 'chamber'.

What kind of sealant should I use on the threads to make sure there is no leaks from those two bolts?

And everyone loves a torque question - so what do those get torqued at :-) First one that says 'read the manual' wins.

The output flanges arent held in by bolts. The 6 torque bolts hold the axle shafts to the flanges. The flanges themselves are a press fit.

Torx* typo on my phone. They get tightened to 57 ft lbs I believe.

He is talking about the size bolts on the side of the case. XnWarden is correct though. Those bolts do not hold the output flanges in place. The only time you need to remove those bolts is if you are rebuilding the dif. Leave them alone. The output flanges pop out very easily. Once the axles have been disconnected you put a screw driver between the dif case and the flange. Give the screw driver a quick twist and the flange pops right out.
