I could've sworn someone set one up not that long ago, using TracFone or something of the like. You couldn't do it with most cell companies, but there are a couple, although I could be entirely wrong. Regardless, I was also thinking about making a wireless charging pad in the armrest, but I would like to wait until that technology gets a little bit better.

Guys have talked about doing a maker thing where you wire a newer working phone guts into the old handset. Youd need to find a simple text display phone or something like that that still worked w modern networks. Maybe one of those senior citizen phones. Audi guys used to talk about the same thing w same era gear but like BMW boys it seemed like all talk no action.

Maybe I was looking at older threads than I thought, before the days of fancy phone technology we have now. If it's any more difficult than installing a Sim card, I'm not doing it

Is there a way to use the bluetooth module in a E39 and all your calls from your smartphone go to the car radio and then you can answer off the carphone?

The L322 is way better anyways. The air suspension didn't suck like on the P38, they didn't have leaky heater cores, the engines weren't garbage, and all around they're much better-built trucks.
The best part is you don't even really need a lift kit, because the air suspension has a "high" mode for off-roading. And with the correct Land Rover diagnostic software, you can tune the high mode even higher for more ground clearance. This is what my stock 2004 Range Rover looked like in its off-roading mode:
Aside from the bad gas mileage it really was a vehicle that could do it all. From off-roading to getting groceries to just cruising on the highway at 80mph, it handled everything I threw at it. I even used it to haul scrap metal and bulk garbage to the waste disposal center.

Honestly I think it's just down to color. I want red, I want blue but wouldn't mind black, silver or white.

And pink ...
So have we decided on an E46 now?

You mean like this? Of course there are.

Although for the cash I would buy this B7 RS4 instead probably.

Seller's a bud of mine, he had an E90 M3 before the RS4. Amongst about a dozen other stupidly cool cars like a couple of 400whp B5 S4's.
Got another good bud w/ a B7 RS4 that's local to me, its a really cool car. Torquey as hell, great cockpit, looks super badass, legit quattro drivetrain puts all the power down all the time so the second it thinks about being wet weather you immediately crush every big power RWD M / AMG / vette / stang / whatever you come across. OK so the modded Evo's and GTR's still give you trouble but other than that...
They ain't super low maintenance for sure, definitely a 'be on your toes and keep ahead of the maintenance' car, but hey - just like a "proper" M car.

Not a fan of the sedan, but I love the B7 and B8 Avants. That being said, my favourite comment on a Jalopnik article:

Yeah. Avants are awesome. Sadly as usual the Germans stopped giving us the best stuff back around the 2000's when BMW and Audi decided in the USA they wanted to just sell loads and loads of the average cars and not be bothered with the interesting ones.
And that's why I haven't owned a newer S4 Avant. The back of engine stuff.
I'm told the B7 RS4 motor isn't nearly as problematic as the earlier chain-on-back models. But its' hard to keep track of the Audi V8's - they're all "4.2L" but with various changes and tweaks so you need to be an Audi nerdguru to know exactly whats whats what.
