Yaaassss! If I were to upgrade from my M5 it would have to be the E90 M3 four door saloon.
Look what I just picked up yesterday... details to come.

Did the fan explode under the hood? Looks rough, but a lot of fun to wrench on!

I hear David's got a 335i... the boost life was too strong for him to resist, I guess.
Though if you're into absolute speed and power a 335i is a better place to start than a 540i— the N54 has a much stronger aftermarket and great tuning capabilities, it's pretty much like a German 2JZ.
I've just kinda accepted that my 540it makes whatever power it makes. A 6-speed manual and a LSD will make it more fun to drive and I think I'll be happy for a while with that setup. Once I get bored of that I could do an S62 swap, 400hp is more than enough for daily driving. When I had my M5 I never found myself wishing for more power.

Honestly I think I have an issue cuz I've been considering each of these for my next car.

Whats up guys, been very busy as of late, so no forum time for me. But hows it been?
Plenty of forum time for me, especially since I'm leaving my job later this week. Pretty stoked to just do my own thing.
I've just been driving my 540it, enjoying it. Went on a long drive with some friends today on some twisty mountain roads— I was going faster on those roads than a Camaro SS, 540it, and E30. Not sure if that means my suspension is better or if I just happen to have less regard for my personal safety, haha.

It was a good time for sure! I did a bunch of donuts in the dirt too, now that was fun.
Not starting anything just yet, mostly gonna focus on parting out cars and fixing cars for people in my driveway, along with some freelance web development. Eventually I'd like to open a BMW shop with two other friends (one of whom has been wrenching for 30+ years).

That sounds awesome Danny. Only thing is, not that your friends are anything like the two friends I partnered with, back in 2000, we opened up a custom Motorcycle shop, aside from customizing sportbikes, we also did custom sound installs into cars and SUV's. We also did custom suspension work on cars and SUV's. We started with my original cycle customers, I used to wrench on bikes for sidework while I was working doing auto body during the week, selling car audio out of Circuit City back when the going was good, I only worked every other weekend at Circuit City, and collected almost $1500 usually every 2 weeks, straight commission work. I look back now, and cannot figure out how I did all that, and still wrench on bikes in the evenings, usually staying up until 2 or 3 in the morning. The bike shop started off on a run, I always had a 2 month wait list on bike work, I did a lot of frame polishing, engine and suspension, brake work, farm out the paint jobs to a buddies shop, or this whacked out dope smoking airbrush artist that needed a ton of good weed, to come up with some crazy awesome artwork.
Anyway, after 3 years, my two partners started taking money from the til, getting shop credit cards and running amok charging things for themselves left and right. Really pissed me off, I got some friends together, and in one evening, took all my stuff out, 6 bike lifts, all the tools, which were all mine to begin with, the tire machines, car, and motorcycle, the wheel balancers, the Kaeser compressor, floor standing drill, the lathe, you get the picture, Only shop items that got left behind, the 2 two post Challenger car lifts, which the shop bought after we moved in. Half the stock we had accumulated came with me, and got my lawyer to take me off of the books, I was done, I was disgusted, but I was free. They went under less than 4 months later, most of the customers refused to come back when word got out that I was no longer there. They brought in a C mechanic that I fired the year before I left, fired him for bad skills, lack of knowledge with using the right tool for the right application, bad attitude. I had him doing a simple brake pad job on a GSXR1000, watched him torquing the caliper bolts with a quarter inch ratchet.... When I called him on it, he put on an attitude, after a month of dealing with his bs, I canned his stupid ass. They hired him back, had him doing a stupid chrome everything job on a Hayabusa, GSXR's use special locking nuts on the swingarms, if you don't adjust them right, and lock them down properly, you need special sockets do do the job right, they will come loose, come loose they did, customer lost control and went down. They got sued, and that was it, word gets around, that's how I found out about it, you do crap work, they stop coming. They should have known better, hell, I fired his ass for that same reason. Anyway, I'm not saying your buddies would do that to you, but at the time, these guys were my buddies, and I didn't see it coming because I trusted them. Good luck, I hope you guys kick ass!
