I had some fun times with my old top mount setup on the streets. My map appropriately named "BBuWANTSUMFUK" gave people many butt hurts with the lowly s366 turbo. I'm a guy who gets bored quick, but I love my e36, so I figured I'd jump on the steed speed bandwagon. I was considering grabbing an efr turbo, but for the cost and lack of rebuild ability it just didn't fit my needs. So I figured why not try one of these new sxe turbos. I was hard pressed to find any information on the s369 vs the cast 366, but the little info I did find seemed good. Similar spool up characteristics, but with a bunch more power. Sounds good to me! I have a feeling this turbo may be little quicker to spool up than the 366 also based on the turbine housing choice. On the previous setup I utilzed the t4 .88 single scroll housing. On the new turbo I will be using the .91 twin scroll. Just from looking at it, the twin housing is much smaller inside and out. I've also heard these turbine wheels tend to lend themselves to the twin scroll housings.
Anyway, the plan is to put this new turbo setup in, Add a/c back in, and start working on brakes and wheels/tires. My goal is to do HPDE's and be able to drive to them in comfort, as well as the various locals events and meet ups.
Where I'm at now, The manifold and hypergate are in, the a/c condenser, dryer, and compressor are in. Lines still need to go in, that should be competed today. I've also got to figure out what motor mount arm to use, I'm thinking the rally road high rise should do the trick.
Can't wait to see a dyno graph on this.

Me too, I expect 20psi around 4500.
What's going on with your car?
Bigger always better, right?
That would be awesome! Erv isn't that far from me either, he can show us some tail lights with his beast when you come down.
Where were you seeing 20psi on the 366 from a 3rd roll on?
Back into a BMW, this time a track rat....and it won't be BMW powered and no, not a V8 either!
Couldn't help myself, boosted e36 m52 street car in progress also!

Been Really busy, got the whole thing installed a while back and been running on a base tune. Just did the first real revision the other day. have 5-600mi on it already..
Need to crawl back under it and do rear control arms and tires this weekend and check for exhaust/boost leaks. Followed by an alignment, more fuel pump, and then dyno..
I like the 6870 so far.. i think i have some leaks or ill drop to a .81 t4.. either way its boosting so thats all that I care about right now.
Eyeing some ptfe -8 lines.

I can't wait to see the 69 in action. It's doing well in the diesel world.

my only complaint is the sound.. the sound the Sx3s made is no longer with the sxe line.

From the two that I have seen in person the sxe turbos are pretty quiet.
On a slightly unrelated note, I read once that the 11 blade compressors on garrett's GTX turbos were actually developed to reduce turbo noise for OEM applications, then they found it also widens the map and flows more air than a same sized 6 or 7 split blade. The place I read that from said that the biggest development driver right now at OEM's like garrett and borg is trying to make quite turbos due to the demands of the auto companies. I had a ford fusion rental car last year and had no idea it was an ecoboost until I opened the hood to look. It makes sense if you think about it that a more efficient compressor will make less noise as it is not shearing the air as much.
I'd trade some efficiency and power for the turby noises any day!

I pried the silencer ring out of the holset on my cummins an hour after I bought it. Sounds like a dump truck now, much better.
