You will go through days of joy and days of sadness as the pursuit for power leads to madness...
Not really. I mostly do rolling runs. If it were to die I would expect it do be from a launch.
I saw the facebook post last night. I'm pretty bummed. I really don't want to have to go to Ocala.
I don't really have an apples to apples comparison, but I think with my 666 spool up probably would have been very close. The important difference to me is how much cooler my engine temps are with the bottom mount setup, and that I was easily able to add a/c back in.
im thinking about going with the steed, i see you said the stock motor mount worked but you cut your condor mount? im confused.
I'll guess he meant stock motor mount arm.
Yes, the stock arm works if you run a screen rather than an intake pipe/filter. The motor mount interfered with the turbo inlet, therefore I cut it in half. I think I posted a few pics a couple pages back.
hope you took some vids of your runs. That thing was moving
I got one from the stands and one I had mounted on the car. I'll Upload later. She ran ok. I gotta figure out how to keep that turkey neck fitting in. I pulled the manifold and epoxied it, still blew it out. Also, my m50 manifold has developed a slight crack in one of the runners. Its not all the through... yet. I've been eyeing one of those ebay aluminum front facing manifolds, or going to the junk yard and getting another m50.
Get a metal barb fitting and thread and epoxy it in place. Mine is a natural gas fitting and has been in there 10 years.
I think a 1" NPT fitting is the right size if I remember right. It will actually thread into the hole in the intake and can be sealed up with epoxy.
X3 for the brass type fittings. Going on 4 years without a hiccup.

You guys are just using the wrong sealant/glue.

I epoxied my plastic OE fitting in place. Been rock solid for 15k miles.
I pulled the manifold this evening to put a fitting in and found a second crack developing. I'm considering just getting one of those ebay aluminum manifolds. I don't care if it doesn't gain any power, I just don't want to have another plastic manifold start to do the same thing. A little being wouldn't be bad either.

I found another intake manifold option the other day. Cast aluminum and 467 US dollars plus shipping

I asked them if they would sell me the runner section so I can make my own plenum but no dice on that. I am toying with standing the motor up some more.

I'm pretty sure Rama would sell you just the runners based on other comments he has made. Just another option.
I just sent him an email. If I keep spending money I won't be able to finish the car this spring but it would be nice to do it once and not have to redo everything in a year.
Ross machine sells nice manifold building parts. I built a plenum for my vw from their stuff years ago.
They use the Godspeed throttle body's. I've used that 80mm before, also on my vw. It requires a Infiniti tps sensor, or slightly modified ka24de sensor. I used the ka as it was much cheaper.
I think I'll scoop up the ray Charles for science. They said 190 shipped for 3 day ups shipping.
