Generally speaking, Australia was very much a pro manual country... It's only really been the last 15-20 years that the shift to automatic has become evident. That has largely been manufacturer driven I suspect.

My battery in an M5 kept dying so I unplugged both connectors on the AMP and it's not dying anymore
so my question is - how to fix that AMP from draining a battery?

I think that's a pretty common failure Norm? I think the amp craps out (something shorts) and drains even w/ car off? Never had prob myself but I know its a thing.

Ok, now the question does it worth to look for the good one to replace it or maybe look for AM unit?
Also have GPS unit dated as 2012, NBT or whatever it is, or it will need an working AMP as well ?

I had to google to check the year - that '60 is distinctive w/ the arrow trim on the side. Amazing back in those days how the 'murican car mfrs would change the trim on car models EVERY YEAR. Every year, different grill, side trim, panel design. Sure slight differences but differences nonetheless. I love old murcan iron, but seldom have a jones to own it myself, I'm OK just checking out my friends like Leo's (need to do that BTW...) Still that Camino would be amazing. Do a nice motor/mechanical build underneath, some sweet wheels, but keep minty stock body.

It was not too bad, actually I thought it would be worse, on this pic above he welding jack stand support it got bent upwards when I jacked the car , so he replaced it with another one.
