Not gonna lie...I'm a little jealous
This is the perfect car for you Max! Just get some 6000k AE bulbs. Are the headlights xenon? They look like halogen from the pics... Maybe add an E60 short shifter?
Afaik Xenon was standard for all M5's

Cars.com seems to be working for a couple people lately... I bought an e46 m3 about 2 months ago in Michigan (car was listed on cars.com)... I got a PPI done, flew out, drove the 920 miles home to Maine.
Glad you found a fine example! Hope it treats you well, absolutely love the titan trim and black - might have to ditch my red interior/carbon fiber trim for that same in the e46.
Interior on that car is crazy clean and seats are stupidly not-abused, for the miles. Wonder if somebody ran sheepskin seat covers or something!? Nice.

For what it's worth, the sport style seats in the M5 are quite durable, especially when compared to the luxury M5 seats. There was a thread about it on M5Board where Clemster said that on average the sport seats wear much less, even with high miles. I rarely see the sport seats torn up with high miles, whereas the luxury black and luxury caramel seats get all wrinkled and torn up with half the mileage.

I will add my comments too - You can keep it! Nice find and a good looking car. You never mentioned the price so hope that worked out for you as well. Pretty hard to negotiate too heavily when you give them a deposit up front though - they know you want the car before hand.

Okay okay, it was not a super cheap, but wasn't expensive either,
till this morning...
well I just ran into a big problem,
i was replacing brake pads and I did them all and when I was doing last one, which was left rear, my jack went through the rocker, so now I have to fix that, it was rusty, and held on paint, no bondo tho, at bodyshop, scheduling it for repairs gonna get rid off all rust

Here is some pictures
so I replaced all brake pads, and did an oil change, it was just changed but with 5w30,
so it's not what it ment to be.
Dropped the splash screen not bad, looks about to be dry
brake rotors can go more
so right side rocker looks great,
But left one is not that good,
so it will be fixed in two weeks

5W30 is actually fine to use in a 2001+ M5, BMW approved using it after the piston rings were changed for the 2001 production year.

I just went with 0w40 just for the winter
nothing crazy))

Ok, just left our body shop,
talked to the guys, and all parts needed are on the way, estimated the damage, inspected both sides.
Nothing crazy on the right side, but left rear section of the rocker have to be replaced,

No way Max used 0w40? I thought S62 needs 10w60?

Know why s62 have failed rod bearings?
because 10w60 is way to thick for cold weather, and starting driving winter morning without letting it run on idle for at least 7-10 minutes makes engine to oil-starvation.

Thank you Paul, and I heard 2002+ model year s62 uses different piston rings so it makes it fine with 0w30 or 5w30

There's no proof of that. Think about the fact that these cars were developed in Germany where it is typically colder than here and the engineers said the engines were designed around Castrol TWS 10w-60. I'm not saying it's the only oil that should be used, but that is what the engineers said in an interview several years ago. The rod bearing failures still don't have difinitive causes.

It is always a good idea to let the car warm up before driving it hard, but it is not a good idea to just let it idle. There is a reason for the warm up lights on the M5 and M3.
