So, few days ago I was digging into internet pages as always and I ran through this add on "cars . com"
2002 E39 M5, I went through all pictures and it was kinda nice looking car even tho it had 186k miles on the cluster,
priced under average took my attention,
since I was looking for a car which would make a good S62 donor for my Dinan7 E38
i contacted dealership and sure they still had it...
talked to the dealer guy, owner, he was telling me how good of a car it is and all that stuff, and I'm like yeah, right, dealer tails..
but then the thing that it priced where I'd get it if it's a right one was bothering me all night then.
So I figured I can give it a shot.
So I called again and put 500 deposit just to hold on it for me till Saturday morning and I went and bought a round trip flight Denver-Minneapolis Saturday morning and Minneapolis-Denver Sunday morning (just in case if car is a trash).
went in, dealership guy picked me up and we went to the subject of my flight.
So,, here it is all clean and shiny carbon black over black leather interior
nice n clean.. I was totally surprised how clean it was being a Minnesota vehicle all its life.
Car was sitting on very nice looking 65's wrapped into brand new Bridgestone Potenza's
plus new battery.. so I was totally into it.
Owner of a dealership and two his sons was very nice and everything they said was true, I appreciate that and want to thank them a lot. They gave me the keys and I took it for a 35 miles long of a test drive with Ryan (aka RyanPeter) there was a second impression: very tight, very straight, without any weird noises, smooth tranny with tight shifter. Hm so cool I thought
...
so now here we are, after 950 miles I finally made it back home without any issues or troubles.
car been doing 22.4 mpg average.
...
so do I want to part it out after that? Nop, absolutely not, it going to make an a good DD for me, and being said I offered my 540 to my buddy who been looking for on and he sure took a deal on it...

It was awesome to meet you max! Glad it turned out as you had hoped!
And thank you for my 1st ever ride in a M5! I do have to admit, I was a little nervous getting into a M5 while it's raining with the traction inop haha.
So yea guys, I brought my little scan tool with that does live data and we were getting readings just fine from the speed sensors but nothing from steering angle. Should be pretty easy to fix, fingers crossed!

Max ... that car is terrible! It is a horrible, horrible car! I will help you and just take it off your hands. I don't usually do this, but when I do, I do it for M5s and for friends.
I want an M5 now. Nice find, love me some black BMW interior

Nice ride mate. Looks like a little paint work here and there but can't beat a clean M5 for a good price.

Yes, I haven't digg'd into it but quarter panels have to be painted due to small rusty bubbles

Great car! It's got a cargo net, so keep it. I've always wanted to know, are the front seat bolsters active? meaning do they grab you around corners like in the E60 M5s? Cheers.
