Thank you Michael, I checked driveshaft wile on lift and looks like it was serviced, also bushings on diff are very solid too, same on rear subframe. There is absolutely no any oil leaks on the engine and tranny, but diff started sweating from front seal. So I think i have to plan diff drop soon

Hey, does anybody did diff rebuild? What it takes to get it done? How much would it run to get it fixed at a right shop?

At least for a price reference: http://diffsonline.com/

He did my Quaife build for the 540.

He isn't super cheap but he's got more experience than anyone w/ BMW diffs and all the parts. Note all his prices are with a core sent back.

I'm wondering if it would just be cheaper to buy a lower mileage M5 diff from Clemster and pop it in.

1700 is better then almost 4000 from ECS . With additional 150 core

I probably have to ask him what it would run me, then I can just put new seals on that and throw it on

Yeah - good option also. Of course factor in a used aged parts box vs the guaranteed new parts inside one. Both are good viable options depending on budget and priority.

Hey guys, I’ll be selling my M5 since I don’t need three vehicles because I bought a truck for needed cargo space for work.
