Hello, I'm almost 15 and saving up to buy my first car. I'm a classic car guy and was originally looking for a nice muscle car, but realized that they can get expensive, have terrible MPG, and many other things. As browsing for other cars I stumbled across a 1976 BMW 2002 and fell in love. I don't specifically want the 76 I pretty much like all of the 2002 series. So before I actually buy the car, which could be a year from now, I want to know what I'm getting into and ask some questions. Just so you guys sorta understand what I'm going for I want the car to be sporty and don't really care about original value. I'd like to get some fender flares, wider wheels, front and rear spoiler, smaller bumpers then the stock ones, and white exterior with black interior. I wanna get a nicer loader sounding exhaust for the car, what are some good ones out there? How wide wheel size should i get? What sorta performance parts should i get? like cold air intakes and stuff like that. Where are good places to buy these parts? What are common problems with the car I should know? I hope you have taken the time to read this and help me out, thanks!!
First off, it's awesome that you're taking the time to research and find out exactly what you're getting into before getting a car; and the fact that you're not even 15 says a lot! Great job man! The 2002 is a collector's dream; they're known for amazing handling as well. Before getting into specifics, you should figure out a budget. While you can get a 2002 for a reasonable price, making sure that it's a reliable, daily driver can get pricey as parts aren't as common as for a 3 or 5 series. Are you going to be working on the car yourself? If so, you'll likely have to fabricate some parts and perhaps even body parts to get the aesthetic that you're going for. Take some more time and really find out everything about the car and research what others have said/done. I attached a link to tech articles on the 2002; check it out below. Hope this helps you out a bit man and best of luck!

Thanks Dmitry, really appreciate it! If all things go well my budget may be about 6000 to 7000. Me and my grandpa would be working on the car. Thanks for link to!
