    Extremely rare E30 325iA -88 Convertible under construction!

    Hello from Finland!

    I think that here is peoples who is interested about my project E30
    Some words about this car.
    I buyed it from Japan several month ago. It have very low kilometers on cluster, only 33 081 at the moment. And super rare equipment like Electric/Hydraulic soft top and not so general air conditioning. Allso this car does not have any rust

    Hahahhaa, is it that worse
    I need to replace Soft top and interior couse sun is fucked those in Japan. And it need also new paint too.

    thanks for the video. the cables in the trunk appear to be added after the car was built.

    Are power tops rare?
    If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...

    Working power tops are. Every e30 and e36 I've seen in person has the power mechanisms disconnected (even one of the special mtech II + extended leather package verts). They're pretty common in the US.

    your linked car top system is whole different than mine...

    On E30 convertible there is 3 different types of folding tops:

    MANUAL Folding top
    EM Folding top (EM=Electric Mechanical)
    EH Folding top (EH=Electric HYDRAULIC)

    Mine is the last one and I newer seen one like this, have you?

    Hydraulic pump, motor, electric valves and control ECU for the top:

    Wow! never seen the Hydraulic set up, very rare.
    As per interior, Japanese market cars even came in 2 tone (with mt2 kits being different color than rest of car.)

    Very nice e30 vert. Enjoyed seeing the hydro top. My 136k miles vert has the electric top and seems to work fine. Didn't know that wasn't usually a thing. I had a short period were I had to learn to reset it, but it is now good. Welcome and great job finding the gem.
