Audi have made a big announcement that they intend to leave World Endurance Championship racing including the 24 Hrs of Le mans, and join a new career in Formula E racing. They will continue racing in the DTM series, however.

I'm sure that's big news in all marketing media. Racing media shouldn't care one bit, as VW doesn't know how to do that in anything else but empty series against privateer teams using their billions, and even then making sure they lobby for tailored regulations to suit them before getting to work on their car.
BMWs are fun in the snow too...
A friend of mine, Brad Kettler, Audi team manager, is going to have to find a new job. He did say its getting to burn out. Sad to see such a great team leave such a storied event. And going to FE, thats sad.
Lets get the party started before it's my bedtime.
I want to say Porsche kicked Audi's butt pretty hard at Le mans, so maybe VAG decided it was time for Audi to move onto something else.
Current: '94 MX-6 V6/5 • '72 240Z • '10 Mazda5
Past: '02 330i/5 • '85 RX-7 GSL-SE • '95 540i/6 • '95 525i/5 • '86 635CSi/5 • '88 JZA70 • '86 4K quattro • '85 RX-7 S
Wish list: Type 44 • Manta • Pre-'85 CGT • 405 Mi16 • SVX • W123 Coupe
And will have their butts kicked by BMW as in DTM, if rumors are true. But it is sound very plausible for BMW to enter FE in a few years.
BMW have been doing pretty good in DTM and have already won a couple of races with the M4.
I, for one, will miss them.
Yeah. Audi's best years were in the mid 2000's. Like Ferrari they were dominating the sport everywhere. Well, nearly everywhere. I actually miss Allan McNish and his daredevil moves.
