X3 E83 US model Passenger seat occupancy sensor

Hi Guys,

I know this is a common problem with these cars, but i searched the forum but didn't actually find an answer on this.

I was diagnosed at local dealership with Faulty seat occupancy sensor. Quoted 500eur + workcost for the repair. Seems too much.

Independent garage quotes me the same, as they have to get the OEM component trough BMW.

Can you help me with the part number for this sensor, BMW dealership won't tell me anything but the price. I can't find it at all in ETK or realoem.

My model is WD05360.

Please, can anyone help with this, i need a cheaper solution. Please?

There was a BMW recall on this if I remember correctly. Check with BMW if your car was affected by this and qualifies for a free fix. You'll need to give them your vin #. Let us know what you find out and best of luck!

As he was quoted a cost of repair in Euros, I doubt there is a recall where he lives.

Yup, exactly.. i'm not in the US.. i asked the BMW here, waiting for an answer from them, but i'm not really hoping. It's been more than 10 years too, so ...
