Hey guys, I'm out in LA on vacation and I am selling my car here. It has some swirls and light scratches that I know I could take out with an orbital.
Unfortunately, all my detailing products are a couple thousand miles away.
I'm mainly looking for someone who would be interested in drinking some beers and shooting the crap about detailing.
btw: I'm willing to give you $20 for polish, wax, etc products that we use. I have microfiber towels and applicators.
TIA
If I wasn't 3000 miles north, I'd help, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Just thinking about a frosty bottle of Sam Adams makes me thirsty.
Gotta go,
^Thanks John, all my family is from BC. Pretty jealous of your location. I could go for some fish and chips right now.
^^^ Small world eh. Where in BC are/were the family?
For sure, they are in Vancouver and Golden.
I've been to Vancouver a million times and I've driven through Golden a few times as well. Nice area.
I was thinking about your situation with the swirls. Most car owners don't seem to care much about swirls. So, maybe the new owner might not worry too much about them either.
Have you thought about just filling them with a carnauba with fillers? You could give the new owner your new can of wax and a couple of microfiber towels as part of the deal.
Just a thought.
Hahaha John, you must have a few used car salesman in the family! That is actually a pretty good idea. I think I will do that or just pay to get it detailed if I can find a guy who knows what he's doing.
Just in case you get the urge to do it yourself one afternoon, hunt up a can of Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus. I'm thinking the Plus part is a higher oil content that fills those swirls and the Gold Class Carnauba will fill better than NXT 2.0.
What color is the car Gato? The darker colors are more unforgiving so a couple of layers would be the order of the day for them. Maybe 1 or 2 layers for white.
Did you find anyone to help?
