didnt like the rtv idea, i even purchased it then threw it in the rtv bin. i figured i made it this far might as well do it correct. figured i would get the correct gasket on monday.

The one i ordered from autozone showed up. planning for the all nighter as well tonight to get this turd done and running well.

Ill be racing something, not sure what yet. e30, e39, tdi. something is gonna slide around on saturday haha.

well got the car done, fixed my other oil leak which actually ended up being the bung for the turbo return feed. new gasket new oil pan new bulk head fitting.

got it all back together, was driving it home and magical smoke came from under the dash.

The abs wire that goes to the bulb shorted and melted some stuff. Ended up racing the e39 which was a pig. :/ still got 70 points from the race.

New wire is on its way in as well as the turn signal switch. Hope for some good progress this weekend.

btw for future reference the wiring diagram labels the wire as grey red GR/RD its incorrect it should by GY/RD took an extra day to figure that out.

Sucks about wasting time tracing wires. That's interesting that the wire decided to self combust though, what in the ABS system would cause such a draw?
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...

Thats one thing im not sure, it could have just touched a ground or the chasis and shorted. There is no fuse on this lead, and is only controlled by the ignition switch.

I did not know there was an autox today. I would have gone. Rallyx was canceled both days.

Yeah, that's not that far for me. I need to check motorsportreg more often.

due to this thing it has made tuning so munch more enjoyable

yesterday i spent 2 hours tuning the ignition map

one thing i noticed was i get an initial spike then it drops. then it begins to spike again and going really rich.

my hope is when i turn the boost up it wont be as severe opinions?
