Thanks Lee
So we all have been lusting for these and I get to be Customer 0 :-)
I'm impressed with the shape and weight. Unless BMW remakes these or there is a hoard stash somewhere, this is as good as it gets to being an OE part.
I would suggest getting your orders into Lee for what's left of run #1 and get in line for run #2
Any questions????

I am sure that most of the people who had placed an order for run #1 still wants a spoiler from run #1 if they did not get one from run #1. I know I still do want one.
I have 4 left that are the pick of last litter. Dmo bought his directly from me last week. It was already sanded and fitted but once he tosses some paint to match his car, should be looking good.
If you want one quickly, I can have these mailed off asap.

Oooh, once I can start focusing on my exterior, I'll definitely need one of these.

I have 1 left from the "good" pile.
S.H. Just bought the second to last one, shipped off today.E39_Spoiler_EDoc2079807688.pdf
This is from BMW concerning the suggested manner of which to attach the spoiler.
I would suggest that you do not screw the spoiler to the vehicle as suggested. I know of nobody who has done this and all still have a spoiler on their cars. Some I'm sure have but it just seems like severe overkill in my opinion.
Thanks S.H. For this info!

I can confirm that S.H. received his spoiler safely and I am sure I will see it soon
Love this small world we have. I just talked to a guy on the East coast who swapped a 4.6 in his 540i and bought Jed's Unicorn headers for his 4.6 e53 X5. He knew Dima too.
AquilaBMW, you were like the 1st or 2nd person on bf to push me in a good direction on some stupid question I asked years ago. Like which AE's to buy or something dumb like that and now I've met you. Crazy world. Glad I'm here.

Make sure he and DMO do a back-to-back photo shoot. IF, if I don't end up using the m5 bumper I got in November, I think once, you offered me a spare automatic transmission for no reason other than you had it. You can have my M5 bumper AS LONG as it goes on that red wagon as part of its full M5 conversion.
Last of the good ones sold today.
I will alerg when the next batch is ready. I'm looking forward to these all being top notch.
I'm into these a bit more than before. $230 plus $7 for the box and padding (I was at $205 a pop, my cost) now has my cost at about $240 a pop before shipping so, what's a fair price to ask? $275 plus shipping? I really was hoping for $250 or less but I can't do it.
$275 + shipping for my bimmerforums family. The rest of the world will pay retail. Fair?
I think so given the quality, scarcity and you should get something for your effort --- call me crazy

I will take one when the next batch comes in thanks.

How long before this batch is ready?
Taking presales again?
why not just buy OEM? I'm ordering one this week.
George, these have been out of production for a long time and no BMW dealer seems to have any inventory, hence Lee pursuing this avenue of near OEM quality re-production.
If you are looking at eBay, none of those are of this caliber of build.
If you are lucky to have found an OEM one, by all means snap it up but for the rest of us this is THE best option.

Fair enough. I tracked down several OEM's with a quick google search of the part #.
I think what you will find is that they may show available to order but then either 1) it won't be available when you try to select and complete the order or 2) you'll place the order and will get a reply that it is NLA.
For reference:
ETK, based on my '02 525iT Built Jan 2002 - http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E3...age/#9408273_6
ECS shows NLA

See begining of the thread.
You're not wrong to think you can find one, I thought the same thing and 2 years ago I believe I tracked down the last one in the u.s.(under $700)
You could find another one, it's possible but if you've seen the traction these (we're making) have garnered, there's a reason. Nobody can find one now.
Best chance is a parts car with one already. Remove it, prep, paint and use. Shy of that, I don't think you'll find one. If you do, provide the link. I absolutely don't mind people buying the real oem pieces left in the world, helps me out actually.

Any updated on batch 2?
Batch 2 has me so happy and thankful that I stayed with it.
They figured out 2 things. The sandwiched halves of the piece were leading to different cure rates throughout the piece. As you can see here, there's a hollowed out section which means that once the piece has cured, there's no movement in the sufrace from the bottom pulling in odd ways as it cured quicker than the top.
Part II, they used the rear hatch of an e39 wagon to verify fitment before bubble wrap and boxing (huge benifits from this step)
Straight from the box, laid on the rear hatch, they fit. With minimal sanding, I think even a novice could prep these and have them look passable.
A shop will have no problem at all.
I am happy to report that I will take any and all orders.
Please understand that in the beginning, it will be me taking orders till I have a number larger than 5 (these 3 will be different)
Once 5 or more are ordered, I'll place a small batch order. They'll ship to me and from me to you. Not efficient but that's how it needs to be for now.
I'm happy and confident that you will be too.

Looking good. Those batch 2 ones definitely look workable. If I wasn't doing the custom thing for my spoiler, i'd be all over one from the second batch...
