To be fair, at this point, I'm doing the teasing.

Wagons Ho sent me these today. I'm salivating!!

    So close...

I'll have the first 20 sometime around the 15th of this month.

    Well, here ya go:

Disclaimer: This was the first pull and since, we've addressed the issues Wagons Ho and I had problems with. The guys making the part said "that piece was 85-90% correct, we'll made the rest 95-99% perfect based on your adjustments."

I'm happy and willing to start taking orders. I'll PM you guys with a link and a total.

Once you reply with an address and an email address (and I get time to ask the carrier the shipping cost to you) I'll pm you again and be happy to take some $.

You guys who hit the cut off will get a spoiler shipped as soon as funds have cleared. If you don't have paypal, I'll take a check. If you're local, I'll hand it to you.

The adhesive... We'll get to that. I wanted to send these with some but what was recommended to me comes in a big tube you would only use, 5% of. I'm looking for smaller tubes. Basically, slow cure roofing sealant for $3 but it's added weight so would you mind much if it weren't included and you just buy it local?

You'll need to have a body/paint professional or be good at that yourself but I'm confident now that we've suceeded.

I'm so happy and would like once more to thank Rick, Steve(bimmermeupsnotty), GearGrinder, Wagons Ho (name concealed for his safety) and lastly you guys for your support and patience. I know it wasn't easy waiting this long. Believe me I know that.

Perhaps Wagons Ho will reveal what all he needed to do and that'll help you on your install. He can also explain the changes made to the mould since this first one to address the issues we had with the prototype.

    Game On!

Looks very good. I got a close up of an original. It was raining so hard to tell the detail unless you zoom.

That's a cool shot. I know we had to lengthen the spoiler a smidge to better sit flush with the width of the body panel.

What's hard to tell with both is whether the spoiler edge is flush with the top of the hatch or if it's a tad recessed

Even my oem piece was short so didn't completely cover the body panel. I think we got that fixed as well as we could without reinventing the spoiler.

Fantastic result, that looks like OEM.
For sure I'm down for this.
regarding the shipping, do you have an estimate of the dimensions of the box/wrap or whatever you will use to ship them? I need that info to get an estimate the shipping cost to Indonsia from the freight forwarder company

    Thanks

    Thanks AquilaBMW and Snoop.

    Ricky--

I can get dimentions tomorrow morning and the weight is roughly 2.5 kilograms / 5.5 lbs (we added some more weight with adaptations to the piece in the mould)
My shipping boxes and total weight in the box will have to wait till I figure out the best/most cost effective way to ship these so be patient and don't wreck the car yet. I'll hurry.

As I said before, they'll ship out, to me in Seattle on the 15th as scheduled now. I'll receive them and start boxing them up. So, then.

Nice job Plattus!!! I'm really looking forward to these being available as I am going to have a ceremonial cut off and burn of my old one. Having double stick taped and glued the old one to withstand 120, I doubt that POS will come off in one piece. Not that anyone would want it now that a good one is available. I got the burn pile ready.IMAG0409.jpg

I think I PM'd everyone. There might be 2 messages in your inbox, I probably got confused.
So paypal me the initial cost and include your address and phone number and I'll get shipping info asap and just hit paypal again for that and it's off!

Anyone not receive a pm who was interested, pm me.

    Here we go!

P.S. I only have 20 headed my way in total. After they're gone, I'll be adding to the price to cover my costs a bit better but they still won't put anyone in the poorhouse. I just need enough to cover my end and perhaps pay for a beer a week and I'm good.

I'll have another run made up as soon as I'm down to 5 spoilers.

So, I'm hoping that you first few that receive the spoiler discuss your experience. The more info I have the bettet the end result but I'm hoping that you'll like what gets shipped. I'm happy with the way it came out. I offered the lower price for the first run. After this, I'll be upping the cost to cover my costs. So if you indicated that you were interested, I meant more than a scholastic interest.

This is hands-down, the best spoiler you can buy at this point so if you're thinking of buying one, to wait just cost you more money. Take advantage of this while it lasts.

These should be @ my door this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. I will get all the paid orders shipped off the day they arrive and send you a message alerting you to tracking info.

So for calculating out the shipping:
57”x10”x6”. The box alone weights 3.92 lbs. Add your spoiler and stuffing and the total weight will be at least 9.5 lbs.

    *

I checked all the carriers and here are the rates that came up for shipping that size box and weight to a residential address:

    *

    -***** Fedex is $52 for 5 days

    -***** UPS is $62 for 5 days

    -***** UPSP is $60 for 2 days or $55 for 5 days.
(these prices assume the longest treks of the contiguous USA) I'm adding in the cost of the box which should be perfectly strong enough to survive even the worst carrier.

These prices can be adjusted via how much insurance is placed on the item also.
For Westcoast of the US, it's less expensive than the East coast obviously since I'm on the West.

Even them. There's going to be 4 pieces of cardboard around these things, foam pads on the corners and packing material around the spoiler. Should be safe, even to Australia or outside the states where for Customs, I'll include "prototype" and see if they still charge an import tax.

After the outlay of some $6,500 for these first 20, you'll understand why after these, the price will jump to $300 plus shipping.

As it stands now, I'm into each spoiler $205 plus $9 in packaging and then the shipping. I hope this doesn't come off as whining. I don't think you guys need to feel any sympathy for me but I want you all to understand where I'm at and to understand that if you think you're taking a risk at this price point, I can only hope that you feel better now. I really am commited to offering the best product I can and absolutely do not want to be like some other vendors who charge an arm and a leg when they don't have to. It makes me sick. I just want an arm or leg to keep this going.

If you haven't jumped on board, there will be no return to this price. I'm sorry. It all added up quickly and I learned, slowly. I'll be making these for a while and will need a new mould for the spoiler after 100 or so. That's another $2k.

The 1st batch is on a truck from California to me.

Thanks again for your patience. I'm sitting on some of your $ just chomping @ the bit to receive these and get them out to you.
