I think Mercedes have a chance to be crowned as world champion in this up coming race while I look forward to the close battles between RBR and Ferrari.

I thought Mercedes already won the constructor's title in Japan?
It's not speed that kills, it's the speed difference that does. Obviously you aren't going fast enough.
Turning Benjamins into noise since 1997
I read a list of the 100 things you MUST do before you die. Funny, "Yelling 'HELP'" didn't make the list!
No, they haven't yet.
25 (first) + 18 (second) = 43
43 x 4 (races left) = 172
172 + 385 = 557
567 < 593 the total Mercedes already has. Am I missing something?

Oops, you're right. I didn't pay enough attention. I'm still thinking they haven't won yet.

Go Williams! Pull ahead of FI again!
Not one of my favorite circuits (SO artificial looking) but hopefully should be a good race.
When is Hampersand going to take his engine penalties since he needed a new engine after Malaysia? What's the story there?

Will be there Saturday and Sunday. I am excite
RTR
My predictions for this weekend.
I think Webber will become champion this weekend.
Lights will go out,
Everybody stalls the clutch,
Only Saubers get away,
Accidentally launching it in reverse,
Webber jumps out on the track,
And does the Harlem shake,
Moonwalks to the finishing line,
We are the Champions is then sung along with featuring Button as back up vocalist,
Rosberg to his team, "Okay, okay, I don't need to know."
Hamilton, "Someone doesn't want me to win, but that's okay, going to ignore everybody, not going to talk to anyone, but first, let me take a selfie"
Vettel, "Max is an idiot"
Max, "Wtf ... Vettel is dumb"
Kimi, "I fell asleep"
Williams to Massa, "Force India is faster than you"
McLaren team radio, "And it appears Jenson that we may have a clutch issue, so if you don't mind, would you be kind enough to please kindly return to the pits and graciously retire the car, as that would be very generous of you, as I sit here sipping on my tea, and I'd be very generous to keep you around for next year"
Alonso, "...... I give up"
End of 2016 Grand Prix racing.
Don't forget that weird German TV host doing an awkward interview with pre-rehearsed "fun-guy" lines such as
"sso ah ve going to pahdy tonaite o' waht?"
Ricciardo will also end up drowning in a giant shoe.
Great...yet another race where the steward is British. Could be another free pass for Hamilton to push others off track.

Pretty sure Palmer will get a penalty.
He should get a penalty for that.
I hope tomorrow's race isn't too boring up front, with the Merc, Red Bull and Ferrari all being 0.5s apart in pace. Could be that the only real fights we'll see is between teammates. And mostly between the Mercs, as Red Bulls might settle their fight by tactics (since they're on different tires), and the Ferrari dudes probably won't even fight each other really.

Glad to see the Williams pair well ahead of one Force India (though Perez will get to choose softs) and right behind Hulkenberg. That'll give them a remote chance at least to beat the Force Indias and claw some points back. I doubt the Williams have more pace, but let's see what they can do and what happens.

Nicely done by Lewis. Not sure where and how he got that 0.250 seconds up in the first sector but that was brilliant. RBR are close while Ferrari are shockingly so far behind.
.21, rosberg kept going wide on that turn in sector one, otherwise watching their lap comparison they were amazingly similar, like watching the same driver.
But I guess that's all it really takes in f1

Yup, Hamilton said that he was constantly not getting the first turn well and had never really figured it out, but then when it mattered he nailed it.
Meanwhile, Rosberg borked turn 1 on both his laps in Q3, and was actually quicker than Hamilton in the rest of the sectors.
It could be that Hamilton just did an average lap, but since he has easily the fastest car in the sport and his teammate made a big enough mistake in turn 1 it was enough for pole. That's an alternative take, instead of 'oh my god what a phenomenal talent, incomparable to any other, how does he do it!'...
An additional note: it seems that Hamilton and Rosberg, only being .216 seconds apart, were very closely paired. Only the Williams and Toro Rosso pair were closer to each other, all the other teammates had a bigger gap between them in qualifying...

Or is it excessive wheelspin's turn for a change this time? In any case, Rosberg's side should be pretty good for starts, it could be close even if Hamilton does manage to get the car to hook up ok.
And Ricciardo is right behind him with Super Soft tires...

Yeah, well let's hope Hamy doesn't bog down on his start. Rosberg might still edge him out though and get the first corner. Should be a good race.
These guys are insane: right now SKY is replaying the previous Austin Lewis vs. Nico 1st turn incidents and just calmly and matter-of-factly state as Hamilton gets alongside in braking: "It's his corner", and as he pushes Rosberg off the track: "Rosberg tries to squeeze (don't remember the exact wording of the beginning of the sentence) but he's (meaning Lewis) having none of that". W T F !!!
I still don't understand how they can so calmly state things like that as if they're a given and with absolutely zero controversy. Hamilton pushed him off the damn track even though Rosberg was ahead when going into the corner, and at worst was exactly alongside! Then in that one instance when Rosberg is further ahead and doesn't even push Hamilton off the track (leaves more than one car width, Hamilton himself decides to not use that space) they say it's absolutely outrageously horribly against the rules!! Not only that, they make fun of Rosberg themselves and above all show loads of footage of fans mocking Nico about that. And they actually start EVERY single show of theirs with the opening sequence of Hamilton pushing Rosberg off track, showing the contact and with the words "brilliant wheel-to-wheel action!"...

Oooh, Räikkönen put on the soft tires, will he undercut Verstappen? Red Bull might've been thinking of putting on mediums for him, but now Räikkönen might be in front of him after the pitstop, slowing him down so that Vettel can pit with mediums and catch up? Looks like finally some smart tactics from Ferrari...
----
Welp, Max made a mistake, and is now behind Kimi (and most of the people in Texas) with the hard tire.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAARRGH!!!!
Botching a pitstop to end the race for Kimi???
Now we'll just wait for a grid penalty on top of this ruined race...

Wow, last lap had an amazing scene with Sainz and Alonso both slightly sideways painting black lines on the track while coming up over the brow!
LOL, Vettel pitted for super softs and put in all best sector times and fastest lap...

Such a shame for Kimi. Either the wheel wasn't fastened properly or something else must have broke or came loose.
Not sure what was wrong in Max car but looks like a gearbox issue since the car wouldn't engage into neutral.
