    Proper procudure for balancing

Let's say you need to have old tires removed and new tires mounted. Should the existing weights be removed before balancing/road force balancing?

Thanks. I just had two new tires mounted and road force balanced. They left the old weights on and the only change in weight of two wheels was the removal of one of the existing weights. I got a bad vibe off of the guy as he seemed like half@$$er. Oh yeah, while he was at it he took the liberty of taking huge chunks of paint off of my wheels while mounting the tires. They are going to have the wheel repaired. All I wanted was some tires mounted and balanced. I suppose the good news is that he chose to remove paint from the only wheel that had a very small curb rash (about 1/4").
