2009 Z4 centre console not powered up

I recently bought a Z4 E89 2009 model it had been in storage for the last 6 months so I presume the battery had been disconnected, now I find that the centre console USB, line in and power socket don't work my local garage not a BMW dealer ran a diagnostics check and said that the power was not initialised to the centre console components and not being a BMW dealer did not know how to reinitialise the power to the centre console has anyone had this problem and how did they get round it my BMW dealer says it will charge £120 / hour to work on it

Thanks but I would like to see if there is a fix just by plugging into a diagnostic and turning the power on that way
