In another forum a guy is building a s54 and throwing big dollars around.
    His head looks like this:

Totally munted up the ports between the cylinders there and the other ones are ragged and not pretty looking either, that one is just the worst but the one to the left looks the same too.

So per the other thread, I've confirmed that the head is stock. No shit - it left the factory looking like that. I'm still shocked when I look at the photos that (1) something looking like that left an M Division factory, and (2) that work was done with CNC, not by hand.

We're actually speaking of the S50B30US and S52, which both have a single throttle body.

    Update:
Car runs! Lifters were clattery for a little but cleared up! Running on Miller's 402 "performance tune" for now. I also brought out my style 5s that I refinished. Waiting on tires.....

I’m curious as to how an M50B30 feels compared to an M50B25... does it have a bit more low end torque or is it all top end power?

I guess I will find out how peppy it is. Haven't driven it yet.

Im not sure how straight forward my answer can be but here it goes, m50b25 stock cams and m50b30 s52 cams feel very similar, except just more torque everywhere on the new motor. Very stock like powerband but now I actually feel like im getting pushed into the seat. It also doest die as much after 5500 as stock cams did. I did upgrade to the m54 intake cam on the b25 and lost a ton of low end with it but did gain a bit on top end.
Im also awaiting a proper tune, currently have a conforti b25 stock engine tune. Debating injectors and after that Ill install the long tube headers and 540 maf i have with tune for those.

Have you looked into a MILLER set up? I have had my car running on the preloded maps for awhile. Haven't started tuning with it yet though.

I had but im honestly not too impressed by it. The only feature that made me consider it was having 3 maps in case I ever end up spraying it (literally have 2 kits sitting in the trunk). For the same or less i can just get a tune by RKtunes with unlimited retunes.

I got mine second hand and didn't pay that much for it, but full price I am sure there are other options
