Just a quickie - years ago I ran a number of diesel mercs, the owners of which, like the bmw deisel owners, were always trying to find ways to successfully delete the EGR system.
I tried one of the mods which involved a home made "shunt circuit" - the page link below..

This mod worked faultlessly on my clk270.
just wondering if there was any fundamental reason why it shouldnt work on my 2007 X3 2.0d, or indeed across the BMW diesel range?
(obviously the pin outs and colour codes would be different)

Any input would be greartly appreciated.
