I have a 2003 325i touring SULEV car that I've converted to a manual transmission. I've coded 205 out of the SA in all the modules except for the DME, which is throwing a code for lack of communication to the EGS. I can't find a program code to flash the DME for an M56 with a manual transmission, and honestly I'm not sure that there were any M56 manual cars produced. I tried to change the vehicle order to a manual of everything else then program the DME as if it was a replacement hoping that it would read the SA and code the DME accordingly, but nothing has worked. I have ISTA-P and Autologic. I live in CA and the car needs to pass smog. Anybody got any ideas? Apparently there's a local tech who knows how to get in there and actually delete the lines of code about the faults it's producing so that it no longer has the language to do so, but I feel like that could lead to other issues.
After coding the whole vehicle, did you erase adaptations in DME?
The flash usually includes data for both auto and manual, and eeprom held info whether it is auto or manual.
You should be able to get more info and even a fix using Tool32.

would the flash still include that data if there was no configuration of this car with a manual?
MS43 and possibly MS42 both used the same files for auto and manual, and they would auto-detect what they were running.
I would try resetting all adaptations, INPA will show a long list of different ones that can be reset, and tool32 should have it, maybe the initialisierung job or similar. I would imagine MS45 is going to be similar.
This can also check to see if aircon is fitted for example, and in some cases SAP's

I thought I had the only M56 Manual... Did you ever get the coding done?
Thomas at BavTek in Riverside, CA coded mine 60,000 miles ago. Website doesn't mention coding, if your still in CA it's worth a call.

I also have M56 manual (2004 touring) and about to tackle the coding - any leads? recommendations?
as mentioned before the coding is there for both auto and manual. All you need to do is clear the adaptions after the TCM is removed.
