    Coolant light bmw

    Have a 2004 BMW e87 and low coolant light came on yesterday. Added 1 cup of distilled water (250ml) as it was just above minimum line and light hasn't come on since. Taking to mechanic in 3 days. Is it alright to drive to work (25 mins each way) for the next 3 days?

    So it was low on coolant and you added coolant and now it's fine? I wouldn't even take it to the mechanic unless you noticed a leak or something.

    Agree with BimmerBreaker. Don't waste your time or money at a mechanic unless you see coolant leaking, or have to top it off regularly.
