Stock-ish Zl1 and C6 at Dragstrip Dealing with 7400Da Who els deals with high DAs?
I showed my buddy back east this vid and he did not understand how Zl1 camero with 11 psi and DR tires and tune ect "Only" runs 11s IMO that pritty good for our Crap Air not only to add that its a haevy car.
Brings me back to when I 1st got my e36 it had intake exhaust and 4.36 rear gear and a tune. I expected to run faster then the base 1/4 on line witch was 15.2 or something like that and ran it at my dragstrip and ran 16s not good at all. shocking eye opener
This is the vid I am talking about.

Only way to compensate is with a compressor. Turbo or super charger.
All drag racers have an excuse.
Its either DA, track prep, track, tires , or temp.
My excuses are all of the above.

DA can make huge effects even at what seems like negligible differences. you can take a florida summer day and think youll do fine because its sea level, but factor in the horrid heat and humidity and a DA calculation ends up in the 1000s real quick (and yes i have done this math many times for flights).
Turbo airplanes also have an altitude where they also start dropping with power even with fully shut wastegates.

I know all about Da and what it dose to the power out put of a motor even boosted ones ect, but it still shocks me. Funny how meny dont know about it. I have a good rule of thumb is for every 1000Ft its 1.tenth out here in Alb Nm our normal Da in Summer is 7500+ even seen it as high as 9470
