Several months ago my air suspension warning light began to appear. Last week my rear end bottomed out, my tires cambered out, and the ride became bouncy and unsafe. I checked both fuses (they were fine) so my mechanic lifted the car and said the air shocks seemed OK. We lowered the car back to the ground and the car acted normal again- the car returned to the correct ride height and the ride returned to normal, as if nothing was ever wrong. We did no work to the car and touched nothing other than pulling and replacing the fuses. Its been fine now for several on-offs and drives like a top.
What in the world could have happened, and what is the best guess on the specific culprit if it happens again? I have the sport suspension with rear-only air shocks.
Thanks!
Just guessing I'd say an air bag leak. But if the dash doesn't report errors then maybe an electrical issue.
Perhaps something hung up one of the level sensors then when the vehicle was lifted...it freed things up...and when lowered...everything was normal again. : just a guess.
