    How are they shot?

It'd take some serious scoring before I deemed a set of cams shot. Even a good bit of scoring on multiple journals will never be an issue with these cams.

Intake is in great shape but something went wrong with the exhaust, deep grooves multiple journals. Will update with pic in a moment.

Honestly I'd run those without hesitation.

That scoring has probably been there for 10s of thousands of miles and it hasn't caused any issues so far and it won't in the future.

    Stuff

Pretty much ready to be put back together, Just waiting on timing case profile gaskets. Getting rear subframe ready for 210mm conversion as well. Going to clean a lot more and removed that horrible insulation they used in the tunnel.

Shifter detent pins successfully done too, I did not really like that job mainly the 5th / reverse.

I'd carve my name in that journal
    and spin it to 8K.

I wish i was man enough to tackle the turbo install and a diff at the same time.

Worst part is it probably wasn't even necessary for what i'm going for, but to have this in makes me feel somewhat better. Fun fact, can lift front of car up with 2 fingers with this differential in.

Went with my s257 it's rated for 650 which is plenty, if not I also have a s364.5 sxe which apparently bolts in since you just did it.

Exhaust FINALLY done holy crap, guy did a great job though could not ask for more. It sounds pretty nasty somewhat loud but hey its a 3.5 pipe. Boost will happen tomorrow with 10lb spring + Boost gauge and Wide-band hooked up. Also need to modify my feed line as it gets a little to close to the manifold but can be fixed with a 90* Fitting. Then i need to setup the CCV to catch can still a lot of small crap.

Yep running an driving and no funky sounds. I've got a lot of odds and ends like catch can, ac slim fan setup, change oil a few times, get an alignment, flush transmission + diff, hookup lights just the lame stuff nobody has time for.

Gotcha. Yeah I ran around for like 2 weeks with no wipers after my build cause I was too excited to drive it and too lazy to put them on. Then I got caught in a random rain storm lol..

Alright 7lb spring in was to lazy to hookup my boost gauge so hopefully it was close. Runs strong hooked up pretty well, AFRS @ 11.4 when WOT. I'm liking my boosted m3 was well worth the effort. Thanks guys for all the knowledge you all share it has helped me a ton. Now i just need to fine tune and ill be happy with this for awhile.

OK so been running around with no primary o2 sensors. Finally extended them to fit my exhaust I plug them up and to be expected my idle drops to like 850 was at 1K without. My idle is just a little choppy now. Any input? Plugs @ .022 tune is for schrick cams I have s52 cams that's about all I can think of that may cause it. It's not bad but if I can fix it id like too. Turbo also is in boost at 2800 rpm for anyone that's wondering, in third gear just full throttle. Hits 7 psi ( my wg setup) shortly after at like 3400

Yayyyy got the fracking infamous timing chain buzzsaw decal noise randomly now. Rebuilt vanos with anti rattle new guides just ordered a new primary tensioner hoping that the bmw god's allow it to fix it. It's so loud I can hear it over my exhaust, it's sounds horrific I won't be driving till repaired. Side note car does have dual valve springs. Things I'll try if tensioner does not fix vanos oil feed line, vanos solenoid, then I'll move onto gears, thrust washers etc. The very last thing will be the timing chain and the very very last thing will be oil pump. Please help me pray to the bmw god's thanks.

Long story short everything on car is great, im on 20lbs of boost lets see how long that lasts lol. I might end up like RAJI. Dyno on saturday stay tuned guys lets see what the 57mm baby turbo makes.

Im guessing 480/420. Next power upgrade would be METH and that would push me over 500whp I think.

Oh it flat gets it at this power level very good at straight roads lol.
