Hi Guys
So this morning i started my car like a legend and then the dreaded Engine warning light stayed on.... i have already checked my gas cap to make sure it was locked as it should be ... light is still on.... what can i expect or what should i do/try - just had it last week at the workshop for new oil and filter and some minor fixes...

Hey jv101....being a 1 series owner myself, I know how annoying that light can be (it can come on for the SMALLEST issue!!!!). To be honest, there are a million different things that it can be related to. If you have a reader, plug it in and see what codes it throws at you; otherwise have the dealer re-evaluate. Sorry!

Hey Dmitry
Thank you for the reply Bud, I managed to get the light off....not sure if its because i detached the battery for a few seconds but for some reason my gut is telling me its not going to last very long - will keep an eye on it
Talking about readers - i was looking into this but there's so many different adapters and cables not sure which ones to get - Do you know perhaps whats needed and also what software will i need to actually read the data once connected... maybe you can point me in the right direction?
Many thanks,
Yeah, I think that the battery disconnect will only fix the issue for so long. As far as the readers go, give us a call at 888-280-7799 and a Parts Specialist will tell you exactly which one you'll need. I don't wanna link you to the wrong one! Hope this helps man. Best of luck!
